Abstract: The invention is to be used in combination with a mail box having an open-ended mail receiving compartment and a closure pivotally mounted at the open end of that compartment for opening and closing its open end. The invention is a signalling device comprising signalling means having an indicia bearing portion and an activating portion which overlies at least in part the closure of the mail box when the closure is in its normally closed position. The activating portion of the signalling means is adapted to be engaged by the closure when it is pivoted away from the open end of the mail receiving compartment of the mail box.

Abstract: A hydraulic press for refractory material including a mold box rigidly supported by a press frame. A lower plunger assembly positioned below the mold box and includes a lower crosshead and at least one plunger adapted to extend upwardly into a vertical mold cavity in the mold box. An ejection cylinder assembly supported by the press crown is provided for causing selective vertical movement of the lower crosshead. An upper plunger assembly is positioned above the mold box and includes an upper crosshead and at least one upper plunger supported by the crosshead and adapted to extend downwardly into the mold cavity. A hydraulic cylinder is provided for supporting the upper crosshead for vertical movement with respect to the mold box and the lower crosshead. The hydraulic cylinder is fixedly connected to the lower crosshead, and a ram is housed in the cylinder and adapted to selectively drive the upper crosshead downwardly.

Abstract: The invention includes apparatus for use in molding refractory material and is useful, for example, in molding bricks and other similar products. The apparatus includes a mold table supported by a plurality of vertical columns, the mold table being supported for translational movement on the columns. The apparatus further includes a mold box supported by the mold table, the mold box including at least one vertical mold cavity having opposite open ends. The apparatus also includes a plunger assembly supported below the mold and including at least one plunger having an end received in the mold cavity. A plunger assembly is also supported above the mold and includes at least one plunger receivable in the mold cavity, the plungers of the opposed plunger assemblies being functional to compress refractory material placed in the mold.
