    Abstract: A component part for an aluminum die-casting mold has an exposed surface that is a surface exposed to a cavity part of the aluminum die-casting mold and has diamond-like carbon coating formed at least on a part of the exposed surface, wherein the diamond-like carbon coating contains hydrogen in a content rate of 10 at % or more and 30 at % or less. The diamond-like carbon coating may further contain silicon in a content rate of less than 10 at %. Preferably, the content rate of silicon in the diamond-like carbon coating is 0.5 at % or more and 7 at % or less. Thereby, a component part for an aluminum die-casting mold which has excellent seizure resistance against molten metal containing aluminum can be provided.

    Abstract: A friction clutch includes an iron inner clutch plate and two iron outer clutch plates. Each clutch plate has a sliding surface that friction-engages with the other clutch plates. A diamond-like carbon film containing silicon, which functions as a solid lubricant, is formed on the sliding surface of each outer clutch plate through a conventional method such as plasma chemical vapor deposition. The diamond-like carbon film contains 1 wt % to 80 wt % of silicon. A coupling device includes a pilot clutch mechanism that has the friction clutch and an electromagnetic actuator. As a result, the friction clutch has an improved resistance to wear, and the coupling device is durable.

    Abstract: An inventive method of papermaking can be provided for creating an optimum wet end environment. In a preferred method, an aqueous solution of sodium hypochlorite acidified by hydrochloric acid to have a pH of greater than or equal to 4 and less than 7 and adjusted to have an effective chlorine concentration of 1,000 to 10,000 ppm, preferably 3,000 to 8,000 ppm is prepared and charged to a white water pit in a manner to be effective chlorine concentration therein to greater than or equal to 0.5 ppm. Before a step of papermaking, it is preferred that aqueous solution sodium hypochlorite having pH of greater than or equal to 4 and less than 7 is added continuously or intermittently to a raw material water with the expectation that at breaching a residual chlorine concentration becomes greater than or equal to 500 ppm.
