  • Patent number: 6969053
Abstract: The present invention provides a strut mount comprising an inner member (12) to which an upper extremity of a rod of a buffer is fixed, an outer member (14) attached to a vehicle while surrounding an outer circumference of the inner member, and an elastomer (16) interposed between both members to dampen vibration, wherein an attachment piece (28) of an outer fitting (14) and an attachment plate (2) of the vehicle body are curved in the form of a sphere to raise rigidity and improve vehicle running stability. Besides, a non-fastening surface portion (36) is provided by being lowered via a different level portion (34) around a bolt fastening surface portion (30) of the attachment piece (28), preventing rubber burr from being produced on the fastening surface. Furthermore, by the use of a caulking nut (52) stuck to the underside of the attachment piece (28), the weight of the products can be reduced, and cost reduction is accomplished by laborsaving during operations.

  • Patent number: 6626020
Abstract: A method of producing a vibration-isolating bushing with which it is possible to secure a larger area of the edge surface of an inner cylinder than in the prior art method. In upsetting one extremity of the inner cylinder by cold plastic working, after a rubber elastomer is secured to the outer circumference of the inner cylinder by vulcanization molding, as a jig for pressing onto the edge surface of the inner cylinder, an upsetting jig whose top surface is flat is used and the top surface of the jig is pressed onto the edge surface of the inner cylinder while causing the jig to gyrate on a conical orbit centering the axis of the inner cylinder, whereby the outside diameter only of the extremity is enlarged while suppressing the enlarging of the inside diameter.

  • Patent number: 6616160
Abstract: In a strut mount to be interposed between a shock absorber and a vehicular body in a suspension of a vehicle, a strut mount is provided which can reduce the rigidity in a wrench direction of the rod of the shock absorber. A strut mount 10 has a fixing surface portion 18 vertical to a rod 5, an inner member 12 having an aperture 20 provided at the fixing surface portion 18 to which a tip of the rod 5 is inserted from the below, an outer member 14 surrounding an outer periphery of the inner member 12 and mounted on a vehicular body 3, and an elastic member 16 uniting together the both. On an upper side of the fixing surface portion 18, the elastic member 16 unites together the inner member 12 and the outer member 14, while, on the lower side of the fixing surface portion 18, a gap 28 is secured circumferentially between the inner member 12 and the outer member 14.

  • Patent number: 6571664
Abstract: A link rod for supportably suspending a structural member from a vehicle frame includes a one-piece body press-formed from a metal plate material. The one-piece body defines a main rod section having a bent portion at one end thereof forming a first attachment section which lies on a plane arranged crosswise to a plate plane of the main rod section, and a second attachment section attachment section extending contiguously to an opposite end of the main rod section co-directionally with the plate plane. Reinforcing flanges formed at lateral edges of the main rod section. The reinforcing flanges include extension edges disposed at the bend portion and extending at least from the one end of the main rod toward the first attachment section, the extension edges being bent outwardly from top edge portions of the reinforcing flanges in a direction crosswise to a remainder thereof.

  • Patent number: 6572088
Abstract: This invention provides, in a vibration isolating bushing comprising an inner and an outer cylinders cencentrically spaced apart and a rubber elastomer interconnecting both cylinders by vulcanization forming, such that it is possible to ensure sufficiently a forcing allowance of the outer cylinder when press fitted to a support member, to improve the workability upon assembling, and to avoid the outer cylinder from releasing and dropping off from the inner cylinder even if the rubber elastomer is ruptured. According to its expedient, the inner cylinder is formed at its axial extremities with outwardly upset portions, the outer cylinder is formed at its one axial extremity with a flange portion having a larger diameter than an outside diameter of the upset portion, and an inside diameter of the extremity of the outer cylinder is made smaller than the outside diameter of the upset portion.
