  • Patent number: 6068093
Abstract: In a sectional view of the protrusion of an anchor bracket, the side surface, on the side of an anchor pin, of the protrusion has an engaging protrusion substantially trapezoid in section at the middle of the width thereof, and its top portion, namely, a flat portion is brought into line contact with the anchor pin. Hence, the band brake is advantageous in that the brake band is stable in position, the contact region is improved in wear resistance, and the operation is stable.

  • Patent number: 5601175
Abstract: An end bearing for a one-way clutch is disclosed. The end bearing is provided in its inner or outer peripheral wall with at least one lube oil groove which is oblique to a central axis of the one-way clutch to introduce a lube oil into the one-way clutch. The lube oil groove is formed with varied widths, depths and/or shapes in cross-section from an outer opening on a side opposite to clutch members to an inner opening on a side of the clutch members.

  • Patent number: 4534520
Abstract: In a retractor having a base, a webbing take-up shaft rotatably supported by the base, and a biasing member for biasing the shaft in a webbing take-up direction, a webbing take-up amount limiting device is characterized in that between a portion movable in association with the take-up shaft and a portion integral with the base, a connecting member for connecting the two portions is provided so that in a condition in which a predetermined amount of webbing has been taken up around the take-up shaft, the connecting member assumes its tensioned state between the two portions and prevents the rotation of the take-up shaft in the webbing take-up direction to thereby limit any further take-up of the webbing.

  • Patent number: 4391421
Abstract: A retractor for seat belt with an alleviating device has a webbing take-up shaft biased in webbing take-up direction and rotatably supported on a base, a gear train comprising a first gear member mounted on the take-up shaft for rotation therewith and a second gear member mesh-engaging the first gear member and rotatably provided on the base, a disc with a cam portion provided for rotation with the second gear member by friction engagement therebetween, and a latch member movable between an engaged position in which it is engaged with a portion integral with the gear train and prevents the rotation of the take-up shaft in the webbing take-up direction and a disengaged position in which it is not engaged with the portion integral with the gear train.

    Inventors: Katsumi Naitoh, Hideo Yanagihara
  • Patent number: 4364528
Abstract: Improvements in a retractor for seat belt are disclosed. The improved retractor for seat belt comprises a particular and simple cam plate having three differently shaped guide surfaces for guiding a ratchet engageable with a ratchet wheel to prevent the webbing taking up rotation of a webbing take-up shaft.

  • Patent number: 4342435
Abstract: In a seat belt retractor having two springs at least one of which acts for taking up webbing and wherein webbing take-up force can be reduced by controlling at least one of the two springs, a take-up force reducing mechanism comprises a rotatable member connected to one of the springs for controlling the output of the one spring so that when the rotatable member is in its movable condition, there is obtained an unreduced webbing take-up force and that when the rotatable member is unrestrained, the webbing take-up force is reduced, a restraining member capable of assuming a restraining position to restrain the rotatable member and a non-restraining position in which it cannot restrain the rotatable member, a friction cam member capable of following the rotational movement of the rotatable member due to friction therewith and also capable of assuming a first rotated position and a second rotated position, and electromagnetic means for moving the restraining member to said non-restraining position by an extraneo
