    Abstract: A color filter includes a red filter segment, a green filter segment and a blue filter segment, on a substrate, wherein when a pseudo-white LED is used, an area of a triangle defined by three chromaticity points of the red, green and blue filter segments expressed as (xR, yR), (xG, yG) and (xB, yB) on the x-y chromaticity diagram occupies 72% or more of an area standard triangle defined by defined by 3 points of red (0.67, 0.33), green (0.21, 0.71) and blue (0.14, 0.08), and the color filter has a color temperature of 6000K or more. Each of the red, green and blue filter segments has a thickness of 3.3 ?m or less. A liquid crystal display device includes such color filter and the pseudo-white LED.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a color filter, includes forming a colored coated film on a substrate using a colored composition containing a pigment, a monomer having an ethylenic unsaturated double bond and photo-polymerization initiator, irradiating a filter segment-forming region or a black matrix-forming region of the colored coated film with an excimer laser beam having a wavelength of 308 nm (XeCL) at a dosage sufficient to achieve a cumulative light exposure of 1-150 mJ/cm2, thereby curing the irradiated region, removing uncured portions of the colored coated film to form the filter segment or the black matrix, and repeating the above-described steps plural times, thereby forming filter segments of at least two colors and/or a black matrix.

    Abstract: There is disclosed an improvement upon a cancellation type printing mechanism or a stored energy type printing mechanism having magnetic members, so-called armatures, attracted by a permanent magnet while resiliently deflecting resilient members connected to one end thereof. The magnetic members are associated with corresponding electro-magnets which are adapted to be energized selectively to release the associated magnetic members by cancelling the magnetic attracting force of the permanent magnet, so that the magnetic member is actuated by the energy stored in the corresponding resilient members thereby to drive the printing elements. One end of the magnetic member contacts the magnetic pole surface of the permanent magnet or a yoke mounted on the permanent magnet so as to form a fulcrum for the rotation of the magnetic member. A recess is formed on one side of the magnetic member facing a core of the electro-magnet, so that the magnetic member does not engage the corner of the core of the electro-magnet.

The print head includes groups of print elements which are arranged such that the respective groups face and are associated with the respective different tracks of the ink ribbon thereby enabling the simultaneous printing of a number of print lines in the different colors by moving the print head.
