Abstract: The adapter apparatus according to the present invention is configured to include a network communicator, a display controller, a video signal generator, an input unit and a camera controller. The network communicator is used to perform communication with a network camera. The display controller generates screen display data, including video images data captured by the network camera via the network communicator. The video signal generator converts screen display data generated by the display controller into video signals compatible with a television receiver, and transmits the converted signals to the television receiver for display. The input unit is used by users to input instructions to the network camera. The camera controller generates predetermined camera control signals based on the instructions from the input unit, and transmits the generated signals to the network camera.

Abstract: An appearance change of an information processing device, which has a plurality of operation modes and whose appearance is changed in accordance with change of operation mode, is displayed on a display screen as graphic data representing the appearance. When a memory card is extracted from the information processing device, an operation of the information processing device is reset to avoid a run away phenomenon. Furthermore, in an inquiry and communication operation, only necessary pages of resultant inquiry information are printed out at a time after the communication line is disconnected.

Abstract: In a facsimile communication system, a user's terminal facsimile apparatus stores a plurality of character strings each composed of instruction words and data to be sent to a host apparatus for identifying one of communication services offered from the host apparatus. Accordingly, when one of the stored character strings is selected and executed, the corresponding communication service is offered from the host apparatus to the user's terminal facsimile apparatus. The character string may be produced by actually communicating with the host apparatus so that a transmission timing of the data in the character string can be precisely matched with what is required by the host apparatus.

Abstract: An image reducing apparatus includes a black-pixel counting section for counting a number of black pixels in an N.times.M-pixel area in an original image represented by white and black levels, where N and M denote predetermined integers equal to or greater than 2; a pattern comparing section for comparing a pixel pattern in the N.times.M-pixel area and an area surrounding the N.times.M-pixel area with predetermined reference patterns; and a level determining section for determining a level of a pixel in a reduction-resultant image in accordance with the black-pixel number counted by the black-pixel counting section and with a result of the pattern comparison by the pattern comparing section, the reduction-resultant image pixel corresponding to the N.times.M-pixel area in the original image.

Abstract: A coating composition comprising:(a) 100 parts by weight (in terms of organoalkoxysilane) of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of (a') an organoalkoxysilane represented by the general formula (I):RSi(OR.sup.1).sub.3 (I)wherein R is an organic group having 1-8 carbon atoms and R.sup.1 is an alkyl group having 1-5 carbon atoms or an acyl group having 1-4 carbon atoms, (a") a hydrolyzate of (a') and (a'") a partial condensate of (a'),(b) 5-50 parts by weight (as solids) of colloidal alumina, and(c.sub.1) 2-200 parts by weight of at least one organopolysiloxane having at least one reactive functional group in the polymer molecule and/or(c.sub.2) 3-6,000 parts by weight of at least one silyl group-containing vinyl polymer having, at the terminal(s) or side chain(s) of the polymer molecule, at least one silyl group having a silicon atom having bonded thereto a hydrolyzable group, and(d) an organic solvent.
