Abstract: Some aspects of the present disclosure relate to an apparatus for a computer system, the apparatus comprising processor circuitry to provide, via an interface of a firmware of the computer system, an option to erase user data of the computer system, and erase, after the option has been triggered, the user data of the computer system, wherein erasing the user data of the computer system comprises erasing user data managed by a non-operating system component of the computer system and erasing user data managed by an operating system of the computer system.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to provide a modular native method invocation (NMI) system are described herein. In an example method, first NMI information associated with a first NMI call from a first virtual machine is received and second NMI information associated with a second NMI call from a second virtual machine different from the first virtual machine is received. The first NMI information and the second NMI information is translated via an NMI adapter. To generate a native stub, the translated NMI information is provided to a modular NMI component.

Abstract: A method for off loading resource intensive compilations is disclosed. The method may include enabling a user of a wireless handheld device to request a platform independent application. The wireless handheld device may be enabled to assess a resource on the wireless handheld device and to determine whether to request native code for the platform independent application. The method may also include enabling the requested platform independent application to be routed to a trusted server. The trusted server may compile the platform independent application into native code for the wireless handheld device and may transport the native code to the wireless handheld device for execution.

Abstract: A Web-based management system operating method automates collection and analysis of information from a plurality of networked devices, as well as creation of metrics, and independently assembles and displays data related to the networked device information on a distributed network. The networked devices may include one or more copiers, printers, facsimile machines and multifunction devices. Internal and external data is gathered from the networked devices. At least one of graphical, textual, statistical, metrics and status data is generated using a network database concurrently. This data is assembled and presented to a user on demand as one or more Web pages.

Abstract: Web-based event/state-driven mechanisms and methods for simplifying communication between networked multifunction devices, such as copiers, printers, facsimile machines and multifunction devices using a networked database for the creation and presentation of device metrics and status data. Web-based multifunction performance metrics and calculations themselves are created within concurrent (multiple instances) of Web objects, wherein a Web object is a self-contained entity with data and a state machine lifecycle. State changes inside and outside the Web object are made by sending events to event queues and routing them to other state machines within other Web objects or instances of the same Web object. Data and events between Web objects are formed into a regular event syntax providing a simpler method of communication than those of procedural programming approaches.

Abstract: A method and a server for communicating information between subscribers and publishers of web services are described herein. The server may register with a web services registry to provide binding information in accordance with a web services standard-based protocol via the Internet. Based on the binding information, the server may receive publication information associated with a publisher, and subscription information associated with a subscriber. The subscription information may include a subscription event selected by the subscriber based on the publication information. Accordingly, the server may transmit a notification message to the subscriber in response detecting the subscription event within the server.
