The processor acquires status information of the network from a network apparatus connected to the network. The processor acquires, from a database, collecting apparatus information for identifying each of the plurality of collecting apparatuses. The processor acquires, based on the acquired collecting apparatus information, load information indicating a load on each of the plurality of collecting apparatuses. The processor selects, based on the acquired load information, one collecting apparatus among the plurality of collecting apparatuses, to which the monitoring apparatus transmits the acquired status information. The processor stores collecting apparatus information for identifying the selected collecting apparatus in the storage.

    Abstract: An object management system and data processing system which enable the containment relationships among a plurality of resource managers to be changed without affecting client applications which use services of those resource managers. A tree manager maintains tree structure data that defines the containment relationships among resource managers, together with identification data that is used to distinguish between them. From this tree structure data, an object manager builds a containment tree to grasp the containment relationships among the resource managers. When a client application issues an operation request to one of the resource managers, a message processor receives and forwards it to the object manager. The object manager then searches the containment tree to find identification data of a relevant resource manager for which the received operation request should be destined, thus sending the request to the found destination resource manager.

    Abstract: A method for structuring a communications network based on an asynchronous transfer mode in which communications are held with the use of cells transferred between a node on the upstream side and a node on the downstream side. The method for structuring the network includes a step for preparing a plurality of VPI conversion tables for converting VPIs of the cell input under normal communicating conditions and that of the cell input in the event of a failure and outputting the cell with the VPI converted. The prepared VPI conversion tables are reorganized for each node and the reorganized VPI conversion tables are distributed to all nodes. Then, an alternate route monitoring and switching virtual path is set up in each alternate route and a monitoring cell is periodically transmitted along the alternate route.
