  • Patent number: 6816195
Abstract: An electronic still camera for determining photographing conditions from output of the solid-state imaging device by the preparative photographing operation prior to actual photographing operation and generating an actual photographing image from an output signal of the solid-state imaging device based on the photographing conditions, characterized by that the electronic camera has the solid-state imaging device, the means for reducing the read-out rate of a image signal from the solid-state imaging device at the actual photographing operation lower than the read-out rate of a image signal from the solid-state imaging device at the preparative photographing operation, and the band-width changing means for reducing the signal passing band-width at the actual photographing operation narrower than the signal passing band-width at the preparative photographing operation in the image signal path from the solid-state imaging device.

  • Patent number: 5907355
Abstract: A solid state color image pickup apparatus easily converts an output from a solid state image sensor to a television signal with a simple structure, thereby facilitating the reduction of the size, weight, power consumption and cost of the image pickup apparatus. A color filter, which has a plurality of color filter elements respectively facing light receiving elements of a solid state image sensor, modulates optical information so that an image pickup signal output from the solid state image sensor is composed of a luminance signal component and modulated color signal components, which are obtained by modulating, with two color-difference signals, two carrier waves having phases different from each other by .pi./2, the phases of the two carrier waves are different by .pi.

  • Patent number: 5337152
Abstract: A first solid-state imaging element and second and third solid-state imaging elements are arranged spatially so as to be horizontally shifted half a pixel pitch from one another so that a light-sensitive portion of each pixel of the second and third solid-state imaging elements may correspond to a light-insensitive portion of each pixel of the first solid-state imaging element. A high-frequency component synthesizer circuit produces the high-frequency components of a luminance signal on the basis of the signal E.sub.G obtained by performing nonlinear process on the output of the first solid-state imaging element and the signal E.sub.R +E.sub.B obtained by performing nonlinear process on the outputs of the second and third solid-state imaging elements and mixing the resulting signals. At this time, based on the result of comparing the output signal of the first solid-state imaging element with the respective output signals of the second and third solid-state imaging elements, the mixing ratio of signal E.sub.
