  • Patent number: 9679738
Abstract: The present invention relates to a lens-less Foucault method wherein a transmission electron microscope objective lens (5) is turned off, an electron beam crossover (11, 13) is matched with a selected area aperture (65), and the focal distance of a first imaging lens (61) can be changed to enable switching between a sample image observation mode and a sample diffraction pattern observation mode, characterized in that a deflector (81) is disposed in a stage following the first imaging lens (61), and conditions for an irradiating optical system (4) can be fixed after conditions for the imaging optical system have been determined. This allows a lens-less Foucault method to be implemented in a common general-use transmission electron microscope with no magnetic shielding lens equipped, without burdening the operator.

  • Patent number: 9604521
Abstract: A vehicle includes an engine, an engine cooling system configured to cool the engine with a coolant, an air conditioning apparatus, a heat exchanger that exchanges heat between the coolant and a refrigerant, and an ECU that controls the air conditioning apparatus. The air conditioning apparatus includes a compressor that compresses the refrigerant, and the compressor is driven in response to an air conditioning request to air condition a passenger compartment. Even in the absence of the air conditioning request, the ECU causes the compressor to be driven to heat the coolant by radiation of heat from the refrigerant.

  • Publication number: 20170018397
Abstract: In energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis, an increase in the area of a detector causes a decrease in the peak/background ratio of a detected signal. In order to solve this problem, a sample holder has a main body part for holding a sample, and a sample retaining part detachably provided to the main body part; the sample retaining part being mounted on the main body part to secure the sample held by the main body part, and the sample retaining part having: a first hole for allowing a charged particle beam to pass therethrough; and a second hole for introducing, from among signals generated by the sample, only a specific signal into a detector. The sample holder is applicable to a charged particle beam device, for example.

  • Publication number: 20160319773
Abstract: A vehicle fuel cooling device includes a return passage and a fuel cooling unit arranged on the return passage. A non-injected surplus fuel of a fuel supplied to a fuel injection valve is returned to a fuel tank through the return passage as a return fuel. When a part of the cooling medium of a vehicle air conditioning system is circulated to the fuel cooling unit, the cooling medium flowing through the fuel cooling unit cools the return fuel through heat exchange. In the vehicle fuel cooling device, when a part of the cooling medium is circulated to the fuel cooling unit to cool the return fuel, an amount of return fuel to be returned to the fuel tank is increased compared to when the return fuel is not cooled.

Abstract: A radiographic image capturing system includes the following. A capturing stand includes a holder to hold radiographic image capturing devices. A radiation irradiator is able to irradiate the radiographic image capturing devices at once. An image processor generates images based on image data acquired by the radiographic image capturing devices. The image processor removes a structural component derived from the front radiographic image capturing device, on the basis of a calibration image and the generated image. The calibration image is preliminarily generated based on the image data acquired by the rear radiographic image capturing device with no subject disposed. The generated image is generated based on the image data acquired by the rear radiographic image capturing device during actual image capturing. The image processor removes a streaky component residing in the generated image.

  • Patent number: 9291209
Abstract: A rotation clamping mechanism includes a rotating member and at least two engagement members that are attached to the rotating member and transmit rotational power. The engagement members engage a rotated object placed in a predetermined positional relationship with the engagement members. The rotated object is rotated by rotating the rotating member. The engagement members are supported on the rotating member so as to swing to an engagement position where power is transmitted to the rotated object and to a release position where engagement is released. The rotation clamping mechanism further includes: an opening/closing mechanism that moves the engagement members between the engagement position and the release position; and a biasing member that biases the engagement members toward the engagement position. At the engagement position, the engagement members clamp the rotated object in a floating state with the engagement members pressed onto the rotated object by the biasing member.

  • Patent number: 9260773
Abstract: A titanium alloy has high strength and superior workability and is preferably used for various structural materials for automobiles, etc. The titanium alloy is obtained by the following production method. An alloy having a structure of ?? martensite phase is hot worked at conditions at which dynamic recrystallization occurs. The working is performed at a heating rate of 50 to 800° C./second at a strain rate of 0.01 to 10/second when the temperature is 700 to 800° C. or at a strain rate of 0.1 to 10/second when the temperature is more than 800° C. and less than 1000° C. so as to provide a strain of not less than 0.5. Thus, equiaxed crystals with an average grain size of less than 1000 nm are obtained.
