  • Patent number: 5542700
Abstract: A control system for an occupant restraint system mounted on the vehicle including an air-bag to protect the vehicle occupant from direct contact with a steering wheel or a windshield, comprises a control circuit for detecting deceleration of the vehicle, for integrating the value obtained by subtracting a predetermined integration offset from the deceleration to obtain an integrated value, for making a decision to operate the occupant restraint system when the integrated value exceeds a predetermined threshold level, for calculating a physical amount representative of a deceleration condition of the vehicle, for setting a changing timing at which the integration offset is changed in accordance with the physical amount, and for changing the integration offset of the changing timing.

  • Patent number: 5407228
Abstract: A control system for an occupant restraint system including an airbag which is mounted on an automotive vehicle to protect a vehicle occupant from coming into direct contact with a steering wheel and/or a windshield. The control system comprises a control circuit including a microcomputer. The microcomputer is adapted to execute the following control. A decision is made to operate (inflate) the airbag when a vehicle deceleration exceeds a predetermined threshold level. The threshold level is changed at a timing which is set in accordance with a physical amount representative of a deceleration condition of the vehicle, thereby securely operating the airbag merely by making a simple adjustment to the control system.

  • Patent number: 4677595
Abstract: An ultrasonic vehicle rangefinder having a detecting system for discriminating whether trouble is in transmission or reception side is shown. The discrimination is established by detection of an attenuation vibration at a transmission microphone.

  • Patent number: 4677599
Abstract: An ultra-sonic sensor includes a driver circuit outputting a high-frequency driver signal which orders a transmitter to transmit ultra-sonic waves toward a target object. The driver circuit also sends the driver signal to a receiver. The driver signal is superimposed on a receiver signal. The receiver differentiates the receiver signal and compares the differentiated receiver signal level to a threshold level to detect reception of the reflected ultra-sonic wave. The receiver also detects when the transmitter is actively transmitting the ultra-sonic waves toward the object and disables the aforementioned comparison at such times. Accordingly, by comparing the differentiated receiver signal level with the threshold, the influence directly transmitted ultra-sonic waves on detection of the reflected ultra-sonic wave is successfully avoided.

  • Patent number: 4611287
Abstract: A fuel volume measuring system for an automotive vehicle in which fuel volume detection signals are simply averaged during a relatively-short averaging time period at regular measuring cycles when the vehicle is being refueled, and further weight-averaged or moving-averaged at regular measuring cycles when the vehicle is running. Therefore, fuel volume can be indicated quickly at a high response speed when the vehicle is being refueled and additionally fuel volume fluctuations can be minimized when the vehicle is running. Further, the system according to the present invention discloses the method of detecting the state where the vehicle is being refueled on the basis of the fact that the difference between at-least one of the current data signal indicative of fuel volume and at-least one of the preceding data signal indicative of fuel volume exceeds a predetermined value.
