  • Patent number: 5422075
Abstract: The present invention relates to a chemical luminescence-detecting apparatus that is provided with a plurality of optical detectors different in sensitivity in the vicinity of a photometric cell. A ratio of outputs from the optical detectors based on intensity of luminescence is previously determined and stored. Signal processing can multiply an output of a low sensitivity optical detector by a factor determined by the stored ratio to measure the intensity of luminescence so that a conversion value corresponding to an equivalent output from a high sensitivity optical detector may be obtained when the output from the high sensitivity optical detector has become saturated.

  • Patent number: 5287733
Abstract: A system collects fluid waste within a closed waste vessel where a waste disposal cycle is determined based upon the pressure level within the waste vessel. In the preferred embodiment, a closed liquid waste vessel accepts waste solutions through conduits having valves controlling conduit fluid communication with treatment vessels. A pressure sensor determines the level of pressure within the waste vessel. A pressurizing device reduces the level of pressure within the vessel. When the pressure within the vessel is lowered to a predetermined level, the valve is opened. When the pressure sensed within the liquid waste vessel then rises above an appointed value, the valve is closed, completing the waste collection of a treated sample. This corresponds to the point in time when the treatment vessel is empty, allowing a sudden rush of air into the waste vessel, raising the vessel pressure to ambient and closing the valve.

  • Patent number: 5255204
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of measuring a concentration of a substance in an enzyme immuno assay system comprised of two optical detectors and a method of calibrating the same. A calibration curve is prepared by the use of the standard samples having known concentrations to be memorized, the standard samples being measured by the two optical detectors, conversion values of outputs from two optical detectors being determined from the resulting measured values, and the calibration curve being corrected on the basis of the conversion values of outputs to establish a new one-piece continuous calibration curve.

  • Patent number: 4725407
Abstract: A flow through type liquid analyzer hasan analytical portion;a peristaltic pump connected to the analytical portion for supplying various kinds of liquids to the analytical portion, a passage-change over valve mechanism for controlling the kinds of liquid supplied to the analytical portion,an air bubble adding mechanism for adding air bubbles to the liquid sent to the analytical portion from the passage-change over valve mechanism,a detecting device for detecting movement of the air bubbles from the air bubble adding mechanism to the analytical portion, and a controller connected to the detecting device and to the pump for determining the flow rate of the liquid being sent to the analytical portion from the detected movement and controlling the speed of rotation of the pump in response to the determined flow rate for automatically maintaining the flow rate of the liquid sent to the analytical portion at a predetermined desired value.
