Patent number: 8391694Abstract: A medium reproduction/display apparatus enables stable insertion of a medium to be reproduced in a medium insertion/removal manipulation and whose thickness dimension can be reduced while its depth and width dimensions are kept small. In a medium reproduction unit, a control board is disposed on the ceiling side and has a hole in a portion that would otherwise touch a medium reproduction device that is directed obliquely downward. The control board s thus located at the same height as part of the medium reproduction device. A display device is directed obliquely downward in an accommodated state. A display unit is configured in such a manner that a control board is disposed on the side of a rotary mechanism. With this configuration, the insertion and removal of an optical disc are facilitated, the thickness dimension is reduced while the depth dimension and the width dimension are kept small, and the shape of the entire apparatus is made flat to improve the design performance.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2005Date of Patent: March 5, 2013Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventors: Yoshitaka Kawaguchi, Masakazu Hama, Toshiyuki Kirino, Hirohide Okahara

Patent number: 7508656Abstract: A display is rotatably supported by a hinge portion as a support mechanism from a storing position to a using range by exceeding a passing range. The hinge portion has first and second torque generating portions for generating torque for resisting the rotating movement of the display. The first and second torque generating portions are constructed so as to generate the torque in the using range and the passing range. Torque characteristics according to a rotating angle of the display in the passing range are differently set in the first and second torque generating portions. The first torque generating portion has first torque characteristics for generating first torque in the passing range and the using range. The second torque generating portion has second torque characteristics in which the torque is gradually increased in the passing range and reaches second torque at the using range.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2005Date of Patent: March 24, 2009Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventor: Hirohide Okahara

Publication number: 20080137276Abstract: A display is rotatably supported by a hinge portion as a support portion. The hinge portion has an engaging portion for performing engagement when the display is rotated to a predetermined using position. The engaging portion is constructed so as to perform the engagement in plural engaging places when the display is rotated to the predetermined using position. The engaging portion has a fixing member and a rotating member constituting the hinge portion. One of the fixing member and the rotating member has plural convex portions, and the other has plural concave portions. These plural convex portions and concave portions are arranged so as to be engaged with each other. Thus, durability of the engaging portion is improved, and GND ability can be improved.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 5, 2008Publication date: June 12, 2008Applicant: MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD.Inventor: Hirohide OKAHARA
