  • Publication number: 20070146323
Abstract: Acceleration and attitude angles are measured by sensors mounted on a moving object and the measurement results are collected (step S21, step S22). The measurement results of acceleration are separated into low-frequency acceleration components and high-frequency acceleration components (step S24), and a time-rate-of-changes of attitude angles are calculated based on the measurement results of the attitude angles (step S25A). After finishing extraction of the high-frequency acceleration components and the low-frequency acceleration components, and finishing calculation of the time-rate-of-changes of attitude angles, the rotation contributing acceleration and translation contributing acceleration are estimated based on the high-frequency acceleration components, the low-frequency acceleration components, the attitude angles and the time-rate-of-change of attitude angles (step S26A).

  • Publication number: 20070129909
Abstract: In a measured-value converting process, a shape-condition converting process and an absolute coordinate system converting process (S16) are performed on a value measured by a sensor. In the shape-condition converting process, when a mobile terminal has a shape 1 and shape 2, the converting process is not performed (S12 and S13). When the mobile terminal has a shape 3, a converting process of rotating through 180° around YS axis is performed (S14). Moreover, when the mobile terminal has a shape 4, a converting process of rotating through 180° around ZS axis (S15) is performed. Therefore, even in an information processing apparatus of which a shape changes, a sensor which detects a movement of the information processing apparatus can be used as an input device, irrespective of the shape.

  • Publication number: 20070069721
Abstract: An attitude detection sensor includes three magnetic sensing parts that detect magnetic field strength in respective directions along three axes perpendicular to each other, and two tilt sensing parts that detect tilt angles around two axes perpendicular to each other. The tilt sensing parts each include a cantilever having a magnet body that moves in accordance with the tilt angle, and a magnetic detection head that detects a displacement of the magnet body. The three magnetic sensing parts and the two magnetic detection heads are each formed using a magnetic detection element of the same type. At least one electronic circuit for controlling the five magnetic detection elements, the three magnetic sensing parts, and the two tilt sensing parts is disposed in a single package in the form of a module.

  • Publication number: 20070068252
Abstract: A motion sensor which can easily and accurately detect bearing, attitude and acceleration in any of three-dimensional directions and a portable telephone using the same. The motion sensor comprises three magnetic sensing parts for detecting magnetic field strength in 3-axis directions orthogonal to one another, and three acceleration sensing parts for detecting accelerations in the 3-axis directions. Each of the acceleration sensing parts has a magnet body constituted to be able to displace depending on acceleration, and a magnet displacement detection head for detecting a displacement of the magnet body. The three magnetic sensing parts and the three magnet displacement detection heads are all made of the same type of magnetic detection elements which operate based on common operation principles. The three magnetic sensing parts and the three acceleration sensing parts are integrated into one modular package together with one electronic circuit for controlling these six magnetic detection elements.

  • Publication number: 20070015504
Abstract: The present invention provides an external apparatus for mobile communication terminal, a mobile communication terminal, and an external display systems for mobile communication terminal by which application programs using detection means can be executed in a main body of a mobile communication terminal without raising the cost of the main body. The external apparatus 30 for mobile communication terminal is comprised of a sensor detection unit (detection means) 312 and a communication control unit (data transmission means) 311. The sensor detection unit 312 detects at least one of position, direction, attitude and movement of the external apparatus 30 for mobile communication terminal. The communication control unit 311 sends detection result data acquired based on detection results by the sensor detection unit 312 to the mobile communication terminal by wired or wireless non-public short-range communication.

  • Publication number: 20060262012
Abstract: The present invention provides a mobile communication terminal and an application programs capable of utilizing detection result data obtained by detection means for detecting position, direction, attitude and/or movement in a platform-independent application program that can be registered and used by users. When downloading an application program to a mobile communication terminal and executing it, first, the application execution environment is activated and the application program is executed under the environment. The started application program sends an acquisition request for acceleration data to the phone platform. When the phone platform accepts the acquisition request, it passes acceleration data detected by an acceleration sensor to the application program. Accordingly, the application program can perform a process utilizing the acceleration data.
