  • Publication number: 20050180769
Abstract: A job processing apparatus includes a job executing section, an operating section, an interface section, and a control section. The control section shifts the job processing apparatus from a normal operation mode to a power-saving operation mode after a lapse of standby time T during which no command input to the job executing section is detected. The control section returns the job processing apparatus from the power-saving operation mode to the normal operation mode when a command input to the job executing section is detected in the power-saving operation mode. The control section utilizes standby time T1, instead of the standby time T, if a last job executed by the job executing section is according to job data input through the interface section. The standby time T1 is shorter than the standby time T.

  • Patent number: 6603937
Abstract: An object of the invention is to provide a display device of an image forming apparatus capable of displaying information that the user wants to obtain in a visually easy-to-recognize manner. In a complex image forming apparatus provided with: one of original reading means for reading image information from an original, image receiving means for receiving image information from a terminal connected to a network and a line image receiving means for receiving image information from a telephone line; image forming means for forming an image based on the image information obtained by the means; and a display portion for displaying the condition of the apparatus, a display condition control portion is provided that changes the display condition of the display portion to a visually easy-to-recognize condition when the condition of the complex image forming apparatus is changed.

  • Patent number: 6546313
Abstract: An image forming apparatus having a plurality of discharge trays is provided, from which a user can readily obtain printed sheets he has requested. The user inputs a secret code at an operating and displaying section, which secret code the user specified at the terminal device at the time of print request (S301). When a coincidence between the inputted secret code and a secret code stored in secret code storage section is judged (S303), the target discharge tray information corresponding to the secret code is read out from a secret code storage section (memory) and displayed on the operating and displaying section (S304). Accordingly, the user can visually recognize information about a discharge tray on which the user's requested printed sheets are discharged.

  • Publication number: 20010017710
Abstract: A multifunctional printing system wherein image information captured by a scanner etc., can be printed as multiple sets of copies by a printer and which is configured so that the printing operation can be stopped only at intervals from one set of copies to the next or every certain number of printouts, includes: a computing portion for calculating the time at which an interrupt can be made next, based on the designated number of print sets, the current state of printing, the information as to whether an interrupt is permissible; and a display portion for displaying the permissible interrupt time calculated by the computing portion.

  • Patent number: 5090826
Abstract: A method of printing with an automatic replacement includes the steps of specifying a memory; setting a sheet of paper on which a character group stored in the memory specified has been printed, to a printer having a carrier; inputting a search text and a replacement text and storing them; retrieving the character group from the head of characters to the end one character after another to recognize whether the character group has an element identical with the search text; calculating a position on said printed sheet each time the retrieving is performed; moving the carrier to the position calculated when the character group has an element identical with the search text; erasing a part where the element identical with the search text is printed on the printed sheet; and printing the replacement text in a blank from which the element has been erased without changing the contents of the memory.
