  • Patent number: 7851718
Abstract: Electronic equipment of the present invention includes a first housing 2 with an elastically deformable thin-wall portion 25 formed as a part of the front wall, an elastically deformable spacer member 4, and a sub board 5 on which switches 51 are mounted. The spacer member 4 includes a plurality of elastic members 41 and a second supporting member 46. Each of the elastic members 41 includes an operating strip 41a that is formed so that when the thin-wall portion 25 is deformed elastically, one surface of the operating strip 41a can be brought into contact with a back surface of the thin-wall portion 25 and the other surface can be pressed against the switch 51. The second supporting member 46 is formed so as to protrude between each of the elastic members 41, and can be brought into contact with the back surface of the thin-wall portion 25 at least when the thin-wall portion 25 is deformed elastically. The elastic members 41 and the second supporting member 46 are formed integrally.

  • Patent number: 5502803
Abstract: When a line is drawn on a screen with a coordinate input pen in a specific shape, the shape of the line drawing is collated with a reference stroke stored in a gesture table. As a result, an edit instruction corresponding to the shape of the line drawing is specified and executed. This function is called a gesture editing function. Here, the coordinate system which is the most suitable for computing the editing position on the screen is selected according to a given edit instruction. Thus, displacement of an editing position due to shaking of the user's hand can be avoided, thereby accurately executing the edit instruction. Moreover, the combination between the reference stroke and the edit instruction in the gesture table can be changed as desired by a key-operation according to the use of the user. Thus, a more convenient gesture editing function for the user can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 5189731
Abstract: A character processing system is disclosed which has an editing function and includes an input unit, a text-edition data memory for storing text data and edition data, a display unit, and a text-edition data buffer for temporarily storing the data to be fed to the display unit. It further includes a display controller for feeding the contents of the buffer to the display unit and checking a text on display from line to line as to whether edition data is on display. An eraser is included for erasing the edition data from the display unit in response to a display change-over instruction. Finally, an edition data analyzer is included for retrieving edition data from the memory by searching the text stored therein from line to line and thereby displays the retrieved edition data at each line concerned of the text on display.

  • Patent number: 5185854
Abstract: A document processing apparatus having a ruled line print control function includes an input device for inputting a ruled line, a storage device for storing the ruled line, a ruled line print control device for controlling the printing of the ruled line and a printing device. When the ruled line print control device receives instructions to print from the input device, the ruled line print control device reading ruled lines in a range to be printed from the storage device, deciding for every ruled line read from the storage device whether or not the ruled line needs to be printed, and outputting only the ruled lines decided as the ones that need to be printed. The speed of printing is improved and a print ribbon necessary for printing is economized.

  • Patent number: 5105355
Abstract: A text processing method and apparatus for storing inputted text data and for printing newly stored text data on paper on which text characters have been previously printed. The previously printed paper is set in a printer. New text data is input through a keyboard. The new text data is stored serially with the previously printed text data. Upon receiving a print instruction, the text data is serially searched. The paper is fed without printing whenever previously printed text data is searched. Characters are printed when the new text data is come across in the search.
