  • Publication number: 20100056601
Abstract: Conventional control agents against acarians parasitic on animals do not have sufficient selective toxicity and are hence not safe for the animals to which the control agents are applied. The control agents are not always satisfactory also in control effect and quick-acting properties. Intensive studies were made on the insecticidal activity of N-substituted indole compounds against acarians and on the safety thereof for mammals including pets. As a result, it was found that an N-substituted indole derivative, e.g., 1-(2,6-dichloro-4-trifluoromethylphenyl)-3-(trifluoromethylthio)indole, or 1-(2,6-dichloro-4-trifluoromethylphenyl)-3-(dichlorofluoromethylthio)indole, has high insecticidal activity and quick-acting properties and is lowly toxic to mammals including pets.

  • Publication number: 20050288482
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of sulfoalkyl-containing polymers useful as ion-exchange resins, more particularly a process for the production of sulfoalkyl-containing polymers, characterized by subjecting a polymer having side chains represented by the structural formula (1): [wherein X is a leaving group, and n is an integer of 0 to 6] to replacement of X by acylthio, and then oxidizing the acylthio groups into sulfonic acid groups. According to the process, even the leaving groups (X) contained in the polymer matrix can be nearly quantitatively replaced by sulfonic acid groups, whereby an ion-exchange resin having high ion-exchange capacity can be obtained.
