    Abstract: A pump body includes a pump inserted portion inserted in a pump mount hole. A cylinder has a compression chamber at one end side and opens in an end surface of the pump inserted portion at the other end side. A plunger is actuated by a cam and is movable in the cylinder. A seal member restricts fuel in the compression chamber to leak through a slidable gap between the plunger and the cylinder and restricts lubricating oil flowing through the slidable gap into the compression chamber. A retaining member retains the seal member at a predetermined position in the axial direction and restricts the plunger from falling out of the cylinder. The retaining member is press-fitted to an end of the pump inserted portion.

The stopper defines therein an eccentric hole that has an inner diameter greater than an outer diameter of the step surface. The eccentric hole is eccentric with the plunger and opens through a portion of the stopper other than the engaging portion.
