  • Patent number: 8172408
Abstract: A lens position adjusting mechanism includes a lens, a lens attachment frame that includes a lens holding portion for holding the rim of the lens, and a holding case that sandwiches the lens attachment frame movably in a plane direction perpendicular to an optical axis of the lens. The lens attachment frame includes a shaft portion on the periphery of the lens holding portion, functioning as a fulcrum at a time when the lens attachment frame moves in the plane direction. The holding case includes a shaft supporting portion for supporting the shaft portion and frame guide grooves for sandwiching the lens attachment frame. The position of the lens is adjusted by operating a lug portion by fingers or the like with the shaft portion as a fulcrum. Then the adjusted position is fixed by injecting an adhesive into wedge spaces formed of opposing adhesion grooves.

  • Patent number: 7506986
Abstract: A light source comprises a lamp such as an ultra-high pressure mercury lamp or a metal halide lamp and its irradiated light is emitted after being parallelized by a parabolic reflector. The parabolic reflector is made by pressing metal such as stainless and its light exit side aperture is covered with a transparent plate made of glass, etc. The transparent plate prevents fragments of glass of the lamp and the like from scattering when the lamp bursts. The parabolic reflector does not have an aperture (cut-out) for ventilation, but heat radiation fins are formed on the outer surface of it.

  • Patent number: 7338174
Abstract: Each shading plate comprises a rotating shaft and a driving shaft arranged vertically. First divided shading plate is loosely fitted to and supported by (not adhere to) the rotating shaft and rotates around the shaft. Second divided shading plates are fixed to the rotating shafts and rotate by rotating movement of the shafts. A driving shaft is connected longitudinally to (not adhere to) an edge of the first divided shading plate and supply power to rotate the first divided shading plates. Recesses are formed at the center of upper short side and at the center of lower short side of the first divided shading plate and the first divided shading plate and the second divided shading plates which form one and the same shading plate are so constructed that their short sides are overlapped each other.

  • Patent number: 7207679
Abstract: A video signal processing circuit inputs a video signal to perform processing such as frequency conversion as well as processing for generating data representing the APL (Average Picture Level) of a frame video for each frame period. A microcomputer functions as a dimmer arithmetic block to perform processing for generating dimmer data upon receipt of APL data, and functions as a lamp driver control block to perform processing for sending out a dimmer command to a lamp driver. The lamp driver receives the dimmer command, to control an amount of light emitted from a light source (a lamp).

  • Patent number: 7195373
Abstract: Each light path changing member forms a first light flux by reflecting a half of light flux emitted from a particular area (central area or peripheral area) of light source in one direction using a polarizing beam splitter, and forms a second light flux by reflecting the other half of light flux, which has passed through the beam splitter, in the afore-mentioned direction using the first mirror. Then, each light path changing member transmits a half of a light flux emitted from the other light source and guided by the second mirror in the same direction as that in which the first light flux has been guided using the polarizing beam splitter, and superposes the light flux on the aforementioned first light flux, and reflects the other half of light flux, which has been reflected by the beam splitter, in the aforementioned direction using the first mirror, and superposes the light flux on the second light flux.

  • Patent number: 7164546
Abstract: A lens mounting plate to which a projection lens unit is fixed is brought into contact with a sliding base. The lens mounting plate is pressed against the sliding base by the urging of a coiled spring. The pressing force is set such that the position of the projection lens unit can be held and shifted. A cover is provided with a pipe-shaped projection so as to surround the projection lens unit with a clearance corresponding to the shifting width of the projection lens unit between the pipe-shaped projection and the projection lens unit. A user shifts the position of the projection lens unit with his or her fingers laid on the pipe-shaped projection and the projection lens unit.

  • Patent number: 6803971
Abstract: Two of four light sources have canceling characteristics with respect to color nonuniformity, and the other two light sources have canceling characteristics with respect to color nonuniformity. A light emission stop detector detects that each of the light sources stops emitting light by blowing its value for example, and feeds, if a certain light source stops emitting light, information indicating that the light source stops emitting light to an energization controller. The energization controller stops, when it receives the information indicating that a certain light source stops emitting light, the energization to a light source paired with the certain light source and puts out the light source.
