A light source device includes a first light emitting element, a base plate, and an air flow device for sending out air. The base plate, which is thermally connected to the first light emitting element, has a flat surface formed around the first light emitting element to face the emitting direction of light output from the first light emitting element. The air flow device generates a flow of air toward the flat surface of the base plate in a direction perpendicular to the flat surface.
