  • Patent number: 6659345
Abstract: The invention provides a method that enables loading/unloading a plurality of types of games as part of an application program, typically, a game application program installed on a smart card system with high ability of storing information for which highly-reliable security is achievable, extending the use range of the card. Of a program to run on the card, the processing parts that can be executed in common are packaged as modules and game definitions described in scripts are loaded/unloaded into/from the card as required from a terminal operating with the card. In the program, a script interpreter that interprets and executes scripts, a controller that controls scripts loading/unloading, a controller that performs the management of point data and rights to play game are prepared, whereby dynamic loading/unloading of types of games is possible and one application can offer a plurality of types of games that can be selectively executed.

  • Patent number: 6575835
Abstract: A system for loading, through a shop terminal, a game application into an IC card which disables playing of the game after a plurality of times in the same pattern by invalidating the game pattern when the play is completed and program log data is stored in the IC card. The log data is collected by a management server for each connection of the IC card and the shop terminal so as to administrate the collected data to enable dynamic management of game parameters, thereby the game application may be safely introduced to the IC card system, thereby increasing a user desire to use the card.

  • Publication number: 20030078882
Abstract: A loyalty program using a smart card enables realtime customer information analysis at a shop. Customer services are improved by conveniently and realtime providing results of analyzing each customer's usage status and tendency. A smart card application program analyzes customer information. Since the smart card has just a limited capacity and calculation capability, the card is incapable of complicated calculation and storing a large amount of log data. To solve this problem, a recurrence formula is used for calculating a value representing the customer's buying habit. There is provided a plurality of parameters needed for the calculation in order to enable determination of loyal customers according to different evaluation criteria such as a score based on the most recent purchase amount or the continuity. In addition, a shop card is used for point management to more economically enable customer information analysis at shops.

  • Publication number: 20020112236
Abstract: A loyalty program with game that executes games on a smart card, wherein the loyalty program with game can also be used as a simple loyalty program without game, no major modifications need not be made to shop terminals, and the number of times customers can play games can be limited according to sales amounts, wherein point data managed by a point application is divided into two types: “pre-game points” and “post-game points.” In shops, points are added to the pre-game points. For game execution, the pre-game points are subtracted, and points gained by game are added to the post-game points. Shop terminals need not be modified, and customers not to play game can also enjoy reasonable exchange of gained points. From the viewpoint of system management, by limiting the number of times customers can play game, points gained by game can be prevented from circulating infinitely.

  • Publication number: 20020069169
Abstract: A data processing method for smart card system provides a highly safe and convenient operation management method in game-linked point system for playing a game on a smart card, especially stressing returned goods process and prevention of illegal operation. After said rights to play game are supplied to a smart card from a shop according to the usage of the card, when the event that the transaction causing the supply of rights to play game is canceled, the designated rights to play game are canceled. When a game is played based on the rights to play game, points are supplied according to the results from playing the game.

  • Patent number: 5539588
Abstract: A magnetic recording/reproducing uses a wide frequency band of a DC component to the next lowest spectral null frequency point and higher by using an existing recording/reproducing head and medium. Intersymbol interference is added to a magnetic recording channel so that an impulse response comes to a partial-response channel shown by polynomial 1-D.sup.n (D.sup.n is an n-bit signal delay); in which T is a Nyquist interval (reproduction-bit time interval), the values of (n>2) and T are selected by assuming equal frequency interval between the spectral null frequency points 1/nT, and thereby a symbol string having a Nyquist frequency equal to or higher than the second spectral null frequency point from the lowest frequency side excluding the vicinity of the DC component of the recording/reproducing characteristic is recorded or reproduced.
