  • Patent number: 6796368
Abstract: In an air conditioning apparatus where air flows through a cooling heat exchanger (21) upwardly from below, it is an object to improve draining performance of condensed water in the cooling heat exchanger (21). To achieve this object, the cooling heat changer (21) for cooling air is disposed in a case (20) forming an air passage to be inclined by a small angle (&thgr;) from a horizontal direction, the inclination direction of the cooling heat exchanger (21) is the same direction as a longitudinal direction (B) of tubes (21a) through which cooling fluid flows, and the cooling heat exchanger (21) is disposed so that a flow direction (A) of air flowing into a lower side of the cooling heat exchanger (21) is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (B) of the tubes (21a).

  • Patent number: 6070425
Abstract: In an air conditioning apparatus, an evaporator is disposed in an air-conditioning case to be inclined relative to a horizontal direction and to form a lower space below the evaporator. Air flows through the evaporator from a lower side toward an upper side thereof in the air-conditioning case. The lower space is partitioned by a partition member into an air-blown space and a drain space, and a drain guide member is disposed in the drain space to approximately contact a lower end portion of the inclined evaporator, where condensed water is gathered. Therefore, it can prevent air from hitting from below against the lower end portion of the evaporator. Consequently, the condensed water that has been gathered at the lower end portion of the inclined evaporator can be discharged rapidly along the drain guide member without being affected by the flow of air, and drips to a bottom surface of the air-conditioning case.

  • Patent number: 6019163
Abstract: An air conditioning apparatus for a vehicle includes an evaporator and a heater core disposed approximately horizontally. In the air conditioning apparatus, an air-mixing door for adjusting a flow ratio of air passing through the heater core and air passing through a bypass passage is disposed, and air guide plates for guiding air are formed on a surface of the air-mixing door, positioned at a side of the bypass passage. A blower is disposed so that air is blown in an air-blowing direction approximately horizontally, and thereafter flows upwardly toward the heater core. The air guide plates guide air from a forward side toward a backward side of the air-blowing direction. Thus, in the air conditioning apparatus, a flow distribution and a temperature distribution of air to be blown toward the passenger compartment can be made uniform.

  • Patent number: 6019162
Abstract: An air conditioning apparatus for a vehicle includes a blower case for accommodating a blower, an air conditioning case for accommodating an evaporator and a heater core, and a middle duct detachably connected to both the blower case and the air conditioning case. The air conditioning case is disposed at a side of the blower case to form a space having a predetermined distance therebetween, the evaporator is disposed in the air conditioning case approximately horizontally, and the heater core is disposed approximately horizontally at an upper side of the evaporator. Further, a receiving portion for supporting the evaporator is formed on an inner surface of the middle duct. In the air conditioning apparatus, the evaporator can be taken out from the air conditioning case to the space between the air conditioning case and the blower case by the detachment of the middle duct from the blower case and the air conditioning case, while the blower case and the air conditioning case are installed in the vehicle.
