  • Patent number: 5090176
Abstract: A method of installing concrete slabs on girders includes arranging a girder to extend along a moving direction of slabs to be installed. A first slab then is positioned at a mounting position at an upstream end, relative to the moving direction, of the girder. The first slab then is moved from the mounting position in the downstream direction by a predetermined distance. Another slab then is positioned at the mounting position after removal therefrom of the first slab. Then another slab is moved in the downstream direction together with the first slab. The operations of positioning slabs and moving the slabs in the downstream direction are repeated until the installation is completed.

  • Patent number: 4710994
Abstract: A composite structural member is formed by fixedly mounting a prestressed concrete slab having compressive stress acting along pc steel wires buried therein on a beam. The compressive stress is thereafter released from the prestressed concrete slab by loosening a turnbuckle or the like provided in the prestressed concrete slab, so as to produce in the beam a tensile force acting in the same direction as the direction of the compressive stress acting in the prestressed concrete slab and a bending moment. The slabs, placed in a side by side and end to end configuration, have undulated end surfaces spaced apart on a beam. The ends abut dowels fixed to the main beam. The space defined by the end surfaces with the dowels is filled with mortar to integrally fix the slab to the beam.

  • Patent number: 4641816
Abstract: An apparatus for stretching, loosening, and fixing a wire member includes a grasping member for grasping an end of the wire member, a displacing member for displacing the grasping member so as to stretch/loosen the wire member in the longitudinal direction thereof, a fixing member having a wedge receiving face, and a wedge member disposed axially between the fixing member and the grasping member. The wedge has a wedge face tapering toward the wedge receiving face of the fixing member and is divided circumferentially into a plurality of parts. A pushing member pushes the wedge member toward the wedge receiving face of the fixing member, and a holding member holds the wedge member away from the fixing member when the wire member is stretched/loosened by the displacing member.
