  • Patent number: 7248741
Abstract: The invention teaches correlation analysis of the stochastic relationship between video images for use in motion estimation. On the basis of the method of analysis of correlation values as temporal series, a method was created for the analysis of the dynamics of the objects in the scenes, the isolation of quasi-static fragments of the images and the use of the obtained information for the construction of optimal procedures for making decisions in the control of motion estimation and the isolation of different types of motion of the objects. The dynamics of motion of objects or blocks in a video scene can be predicted, and the results of the predicting permit the isolation in motion of each element of the scene—the following components: camera motion, object motion, object distortion thereby allowing the possibility of isolating groups of blocks for which a given coding strategy has maximum effectiveness.

  • Patent number: 7239754
Abstract: The present invention teaches a method of compressing still images in a multi-purpose compression system. The current invention teaches preprocessing of the images to a YUV 4:2:0 format and decomposing the images using two-dimensional Discrete Wavelet Transformation. The current invention teaches that filters may be selected based on image dimensions. After the image is decomposed, the frequency coefficients are quantized and the data is entropy encoded. The image is restored by reversing the compression process.

  • Patent number: 7209591
Abstract: A method for motion accounting and compensation while encoding allows improvement of the restored image quality. Image is a predicted frame in video sequence. Motion compensation is understood as an error residual signal compressing scheme, executed during video sequence encoding. According to the teachings of the current invention, errors are accounted for during encoding. Error accounting is subtracting the original image from the predicted frame. The error values are written to the output stream compactly with the minimum code length. The stored error values are added to the predicted frame during the decoding process. The method taught herein is applied for all the predicted frames from the video sequence, thereby allowing one to improve the quality of decompressed video film that was compressed with a significant compression ratio.

  • Patent number: 7197075
Abstract: An improved method and system for motion-compensated temporal interpolation of video frames during video processing for computer video images, video games and other video effects where changes of an object's form or movement exist. One or more new intermediate video frames are generated and introduced in a processed video sequence in order to produce the appearance of more realistic motion of subjects. Information is obtained from existing video frames and an improved motion estimation algorithm, one that determines the true motion vectors of subject movement, is applied to re-create one or more missing frames. The addition of intermediate video frames further allows for an increase in the viewable frame rate and thereby provides improved frame-by-frame continuity of movement.

  • Patent number: 7080451
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an electronic component with a contact having a terminal section for brazing and a contact section includes steps that construct a contact base member of a material that is poorly wettable, forms a primer plating layer of a material that is poorly wettable to the weld brazing material on the base member, forms a finish plating layer of a material that is highly wettable to the weld brazing material on the primer plating layer, and selectively removes a portion of the finish plating layer to obtain an exposed region of the primer plating layer that serves as an arresting region for arresting the weld brazing material from creeping up and migrating along the highly wettable finish plating layer in brazing the terminal section to the brazing pad of a wiring board.

  • Publication number: 20060099569
Abstract: The invention relates to medicine and can be used for diagnosing oncological diseases, manly on early stages thereof and for evaluating a treatment efficiency. The inventive method consists in studying an aqueous solution of native plasma or a native blood serum of a patient with the aid of a laser correlation spectroscopy method (LCS). In order to carry out said method, two solutions are prepared, and alkali is added to one solution, acid being added to another solution. A probability distribution density of fluctuation amplitude of light diffusion intensity in a frequency band of 1-180 Hz is defined for each said solution. A distribution kernel is disclosed, the following characteristic parameters thereof are defined: maximum position, intensity, width and diagnosis index which is equal to a correlation product of said characteristic parameters.

  • Patent number: 6925125
Abstract: The disclosed method provides a new resolution of the aperture problem, which is one of the basic problems present in motion estimation technology. The method constitutes a resolution of this problem by means of adaptive transfer to smaller blocks. The approach consists of adaptive partitioning of the picture with the use of quadratic trees. If an aperture problem is detected in the block, then the block partitions with the help of quadratic trees into smaller blocks. The partitioning continues until either the aperture problem is resolved or the smallest size block is reached. Through the use of this method, the aperture problem is successfully resolved without substantial loss in the degree of compression.

  • Patent number: 6913488
Abstract: An insulator used in an electrical connector has a plate like portion. The plate like portion has upper and lower surfaces perpendicular to a Z-direction and is elongated in an X-direction. In the lower surface, a plurality of grooves are formed and extend in parallel with each other in a Y-direction. The grooves are arranged with intervals in the X-direction so that a plurality of ridges is formed between the respective neighboring grooves in the X-direction. In the upper surface of the plate like portion, material-depressed portions are provided. Each material-depressed portion extends in the Y-direction and has a shape longer in the Y-direction than in the X-direction. Each material-depressed portion is positioned in correspondence with one of the ridges. The insulator is made of anisotropic resin.

  • Publication number: 20040184524
Abstract: Still image data or moving image data is compressed and transmitted in a low number of frames or pixels, or in a low number of frames and pixels. After the data is transmitted, it is decompressed in a low number of frames or pixels, or in a low number of frames and pixels. The data is then displayed in a high number of frames or pixels or, frames and pixels after time image interpolation, spatial image interpolation, or both time and spatial image interpolation. In another embodiment, image data is compressed as above and then stored in memory in a low number of frames and/or pixels. After storage, the data is retrieved in a low number of frames or pixels, or frames and pixels, and displayed after converting it in a high number of frames and/or pixels using image interpolation as noted above.
