    Abstract: The thermocycling inspection device includes a holder-accommodating space 10 for accommodating the chip holder 50 therein, a thermocycling section 20 for heating and cooling the inspection chip 60, and a detector 30 for taking a picture of the inspection chip 60, and when the thermocycling section 20 heats or cools or when a picture is taken by the detector 30, the thermocycling section 20 is disposed on one side of the holder-accommodating space 10, the detector 30 is disposed on other side of the holder-accommodating space 10, and the holder-accommodating space 10 is formed such that an optical axis of the detector 30 and a sample introducing port 62 match with each other. According to this, polymerase chain reaction can be carried out, and inspection can be carried out using the inspection chip which carries out the polymerase chain reaction.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus forms an image on a continuous medium, fixes the image by a fixing unit, and winds the continuous medium. The fixing unit has a first rotating member on a fixing surface side of the continuous medium and a second rotating member facing the first rotating member. The first rotating member is separate from the continuous medium when tension is applied to the continuous medium while the first rotating member is separate from the second rotating member. The image forming apparatus includes a tension applying mechanism, upstream and downstream nip portions, and a controller. The controller separates the first rotating member from the second rotating member while tension is applied to the continuous medium, and rotates the first rotating member. During a temperature raising operation and a temperature maintaining operation, the controller causes the nip portions to be in pressing states and maintains the tension.

    Abstract: A disc drive is constructed from a main body which includes a mechanism unit having a disc rotating mechanism for rotating a disc and a play back mechanism for playing back information recorded on the disc, disc tray movably provided with respect to the main body for supporting a disc and a casing for housing the main body. The disc drive is provided with vibration absorbing members for suppressing transmission of vibration caused by high speed rotation of the disc from the main body to the casing. The vibration absorbing members are formed of elastical members and they are arranged between the side portions of the main body and the inside of the casing, thereby the main body is supported by the casing through the vibration absorbing members to prevent vibrations caused in the main body from being transmitted to the casing.
