  • Publication number: 20080123966
Abstract: According to the present invention, it is possible to improve the usability of an automatic image editing apparatus by finding subject-captured scenes from inter-frame motion vectors for automatic editing of motion images. If the result of analyzing inter-frame motion vectors indicates that all motion vectors in a region are the same in direction and magnitude, this region is judged as a subject being followed. Thus, it is possible to automatically extract and edit subject-captured scenes. In addition, the edited images namely plural scenes may be displayed either in the same order as edited or in the order of importance. As well, similar scenes may be combined into a single image sequence. Thus, it is possible to provide improved usability to the viewer.

  • Publication number: 20080124580
Abstract: A magnetic disc device includes a magnetic disc, a magnetic head and an actuator. A ramp portion is provided for retracting the magnetic head when recording/reproducing operation is not performed. The ramp portion is arranged on a running path of the magnetic head on an external side of the magnetic disc so that a part of the ramp portion protrudes to an upper part of the outer periphery of the magnetic disc. A load-bar lubrication layer is formed on the surface of a load bar provided at the leading edge of the magnetic head. A head lubrication layer is formed on a head-slider plane of a head slider of the magnetic head. The load-bar lubrication layer reduces a dynamic friction coefficient with the ramp portion surface and suppresses occurrence of abrasion power, and the head lubrication layer suppresses adhesion of abrasion powder to the head-slider plane.

  • Publication number: 20070297753
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an image correcting apparatus capable of performing zoom processing or mask processing on an image output from an imaging device, such as an image display device or an image monitoring/recording device, or on a reproduced image from an image recorder, in such a way as to adjust the exposure or luminance of the zoomed portion or the unmasked portion of the image to an optimum level and thereby allow display of a clear image. An image correcting apparatus of the present invention comprises: image input/output interfaces; zoom processing means for zooming an area of an input image; luminance histogram processing means for creating a luminance histogram of the zoomed area or an unmasked area of the image; and exposure correction processing means for adjusting the exposure or luminance of the zoomed area or the unmasked area to an appropriate level based on the luminance histogram created by the luminance histogram processing means.

  • Publication number: 20070253291
Abstract: A first component defines a threaded bore. A second component is kept in contact with the first component. A clamping screw penetrates through the second component and is screwed in the threaded bore. A lubricating agent film is interposed between the threaded bore and the clamping screw. The lubricating agent film is made of a macromolecular compound having a polar end group. The lubricating agent film serves to reduce the friction between the threaded bore and the clamping screw. Generation of dust is prevented when the clamping screw is being screwed into the threaded bore. In addition, the clamping screw exhibits a larger axial force at a certain amount of a fastening torque as compared with a conventional clamping screw. A larger axial force can thus be applied to hold the second component onto the first component.

  • Publication number: 20070225183
Abstract: A lubricant is provided that can form a sufficiently thin one-molecule film surface even when it is highly polymerized. When used for a magnetic recording medium lubricant layer and/or a head slider lubricant layer of a magnetic recording device, it can make the film thickness of the lubricant layers very small, with the result that it can furnish an increased reliability to the magnetic recording device in a wide temperature-range environment without damaging the flying stability. This lubricant comprises a fluorine-containing polymer having a specific structure. Such a fluorine-containing polymer can be manufactured by reacting a compound having a specific structure and 1,3-butadiene diepoxide.
