  • Patent number: 7990566
Abstract: An image forming device configured as follows. A user is allowed to select desired print data files to be printed from among print data files stored in an external storage. A file list generating unit generates a list of the desired print data files selected by the user. The list includes an order of the desired print data files. A page arrangement unit arranges each page of the desired print data files on each recording sheet based on the list of the desired print data, a print mode and a total number of pages of the desired print data files. Blank pages to be added to complete the arrangement of pages of the print data files with respect to the recording sheets are generated. Page data is retrieved based on the arrangement of pages and is converted to image data, which is printed by an image data printing unit.

  • Patent number: 7957556
Abstract: An object such as a person is extracted from images captured by cameras (2R, 2L) to determine the degree of vertical symmetry of the object (step 33). In the case where the degree of vertical symmetry is determined to be high, the object is determined to be other than a living body (step 33a). In the case where the degree of vertical symmetry is determined to be low, the object is determined likely to be a living body (step 33b). In the case where determined likely to be a living body, the object is further determined to be a predetermined kind of living body (for example, a person) or not based on the image of the object (steps 34 and 35). This allows an extremely reliable and simple determination of whether the type of the object extracted from the image captured by the camera is a living body such as a person.

  • Publication number: 20110109739
Abstract: A vehicle periphery monitoring device is operable to recognize with high accuracy whether or not an object is a designated quadruped animal. According to the vehicle periphery monitoring device, for determining whether or not a first object region and a second object region correspond to the designated quadruped animal according to whether or not the aspect ratio of the first object region is equal to or greater 1, a plurality of the second object regions are extracted, and it is determined whether the ratio of the vertical dimension of the second object region to the vertical dimension of the first object region lies within the range of the ratio of the leg vertical dimension to the torso vertical dimension of a common designated quadruped animal.

  • Publication number: 20110032555
Abstract: A printer includes an input unit, a cell-size changing unit, a print data creating unit, and a printing unit. The input unit receives table data describing a table including a plurality of cells. Each of the plurality of cells has a size. The cell-size changing unit is configured to be capable of changing the size of a cell that is associated with a formula. The print data creating unit creates print data for printing a cell-size changed table that includes the size changed cell in a predetermined part of a recording sheet such that the formula fits entirely within the size changed cell, if the cell-size changing unit changes the size of the cell. The printing unit prints the cell-size changed table based on the print data in the predetermined part of the recording sheet.

  • Patent number: 7875994
Abstract: An airbag device includes an airbag control IC constructed with a control signal generating circuit, a high-side switching element and a low-side switching element. Based on a signal for controlling the low-side switching element, on a signal for controlling a safety switching element and on a check mode signal, the control signal generating circuit adjusts the timing of the signal for controlling the high-side switching element so that the high-side switching element is turned on last. Therefore, the high-side switching element is turned on last. This suppresses the occurrence of an overshoot current.
