  • Patent number: 8457582
Abstract: In the adaptive control apparatus, a computation unit computes weighting coefficients, using a first adaptive control method in a proportion ? of a first computation amount, where the first adaptive control method has a first convergence rate and a first convergence error. Further, a computation unit computes weighting coefficients from initial values of the weighting coefficients computed by the computation unit, using a second adaptive control method in a proportion (1??) of a second computation amount, where the second adaptive control method has a second convergence rate slower than the first convergence rate and a second convergence error smaller than the first convergence error. A controller controls determination of a ratio ?/(1-?) based on a moving speed of a mobile unit, and controls the computation units to perform computing processes.

  • Patent number: 8190104
Abstract: A controller of a MIMO antenna apparatus calculates a current transmission capacity based on signal levels detected by a signal level detector circuit. The controller calculates an estimated transmission capacity assuming that at least one of antenna elements currently connected to a MIMO modulator and demodulator circuit is changed to a further antenna element not connected to the MIMO modulator and demodulator circuit, based on the detected signal levels and degrees of electromagnetic coupling stored in a degree-of-coupling memory. The controller controls a switch circuit to connect the further antenna element to the MIMO modulator and demodulator circuit when the current transmission capacity becomes lower than the estimated transmission capacity.

  • Patent number: 8050639
Abstract: Reception signals received by first to fourth antennas 11 to 14 are sequentially selected one by one repeatedly in accordance with first to fourth switches 31 to 34 being controlled by first to fourth switch control circuits 41 to 44, respectively, so as to be inputted to a signal shaping section 60. The reception signals having been shaped by the signal shaping section 60 are sampled by a sample-and-hold section 71 and AD-converted by an AD converter 72 in accordance with a time at which the reception signals are sequentially selected. The resultant signals are converted into parallel signals by a serial-parallel conversion section 73. Thus, the parallel signals are obtained as the reception signals of the first to the fourth antennas 11 to 14.
