  • Patent number: 11927666
Abstract: A secondary echo and a primary echo subjected to topographic echo processing are compared with each other. When there is a topographic echo in the primary echo or the secondary echo determined as a strong echo, an echo resulting from removal of the topographic echo is defined as a strong-topographic-echo-removed reception signal. Electric power of the topographic echo in the secondary echo or the primary echo determined as a weak echo and the strong-topographic-echo-removed reception signal are defined as weak echo parameters. Electric power of the weak echo estimated from a reception signal in a weak echo region resulting from phase correction of a reception signal resulting from removal of a frequency component of the strong echo from the strong-topographic-echo-removed reception signal representing the weak echo parameter, a spectral width of the weak echo representing the weak echo parameter, and a Doppler velocity of the weak echo are provided as spectral parameters.

  • Patent number: 5439337
Abstract: In order to provide a lock nut having a high reliability free from loosening, three nuts are used. The nut closest to the bolt head and the intermediate nut are engaged with each other in only the peripheral direction and do not come into surface-contact with each other in the axial direction, thereby aligning the outer peripheries thereof and forming internal threads on a variety of center bores. Then, the intermediate nut and the outermost nut are brought into press-contact with each other in the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 5344252
Abstract: This key comprises a pair of elongated blocks each having a tapered recess; a tapered pin adapted to be inserted in a tubular tapered portion which is formed by bringing the pair of blocks together in such a manner that the tapered recesses confront, and mutually displaceable in the axial direction; and a clamping member adapted to be screwed into a threaded portion provided on one end of the tapered pin or the tubular tapered portion. The key obtained by assembling these parts can be fitted into a key groove provided between a driving member and a driven member. The clamping member is rotated to mutually displace the tapered pin with respect to the tubular tapered portion in the axial direction, thereby separating the blocks from each other, thus pressing the outer walls of the blocks against the inner wall of the key groove. As a result, the key is firmly fitted into the key groove, and the drive member and the driven member can be securely coupled together with a higher reliability.

  • Patent number: 5323989
Abstract: A method of supporting an exhaust pipe for an engine of a motor vehicle, on a vehicle body is disclosed. Initially, the exhaust pipe is formed such that the pipe is flexible at an intermediate point thereof in the vicinity of a rear axle of the vehicle, on which a nodal point of a primary natural vibration mode of the vehicle lies. The exhaust pipe has a rear section which extends rearwards from the intermediate point. Then, the rear section of the exhaust pipe is elastically supported on the vehicle body, such that the rear section is oscillatable about the intermediate point relative to the vehicle body. With a natural frequency of the rear section of the exhaust pipe tuned to a primary natural frequency of the vehicle body, the rear section of the pipe serves as a dynamic damper for the vehicle body. Also disclosed is a support structure for supporting the exhaust pipe in the manner described above.

  • Patent number: 4004065
Abstract: A heat sensitive recording member is composed of a support and a heat sensitive layer overlying the support. The heat sensitive layer contains an iron salt of a higher fatty acid and gallic acid as color forming components, a stilbene series fluorescent dye as an unusual color forming inhibitor, and hydroxypropyl cellulose and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose.
