  • Patent number: 4629531
Abstract: An apparatus for joining the trailing end of a preceding sheet to the leading end of a following sheet is disclosed which effects the union of the two sheet ends by keeping the trailing end of the preceding sheet sucked to the lower side of a pair of suction boxes disposed on a sheet path as separated by an interval, cutting the sheet so held in place along the interval, elevating a movable receiving table disposed below the sheet path, and holding in place the leading end of the following sheet, thereby bringing the leading end of the following sheet into contact with the cut end of the preceding strip of sheet and thereby allowing the two sheet ends to be joined.

  • Patent number: 4508284
Abstract: An apparatus for winding a sheet into a roll by the center drive system, comprising a device for detecting a winding tension, a device for calculating the detected value by comparison with a desired tensile value conditioned by a dimension of the winding roll as based on a winding length growing with the progress of the winding, and a device for controlling the winding tension by the compared and calculated value. The tensile control adopts a theoretical equation in which the winding length is a variable and for which certain conditions are taken into consideration. The detected winding tension is compared with the preset appropriate tensile value, and is calculated in an analog or digital system so as to control a winding torque. The tensile control is accomplished by a torque actuator which is coupled to a winding axis.

  • Patent number: 4496114
Abstract: On the circular periphery of a winding shaft, flat recesses are formed at fixed intervals both in the axial and circumferential directions, with small rollers mounted one each on the flat recesses rollably on and inseparably from the flat recesses. A spool for winding a strip of sheet material thereon is slid over the circular periphery of the winding shaft sidewise from one end of the winding shaft. A slight rotation of the spool relative to the winding shaft causes the aforementioned rollers to be moved and wedged into the gap between the spool and the winding shaft, with the result that the spool and the winding shaft are locked to each other.

  • Patent number: 4229395
Abstract: Molten synthetic resin material containing foaming agent in an amount of 0.05 to 5 percent by weight is injected into a pre-pressurized mold cavity in a mold which is closed by a relatively low clamping force having a coefficient in the range of 10 to 40, said coefficient being represented as a ratio of clamping force to maximum injection shot volume. The above injection step is carried out for at least 3 seconds. After the injection step has been initiated, the pre-pressurized mold is released to atmosphere during the injection step at the soonest. At least two molds may be used to be alternately charged with said material.
