  • Publication number: 20080257202
Abstract: Only by immersing a rusted metallic product into (a single liquid) of) a rust removing/preventing agent or painting the agent only on the rust on the surface thereof, the rust is completely removed. By drying the metallic product taken out from the liquid of the agent or wiping off the liquid without subjecting the rust-removed metal to any post-treatment such as washing, the effect of preventing rust is exhibited indoors and outdoors over a long term. Furthermore, the single liquid of the agent is caused to have two functions of rust-removal and rust-prevention. A rust-removing/preventing agent, comprising orthophosphoric acid, DL-malic acid, and a water, in which in the case that the total weight of the agent is assumed to be 1 kg, the weight of orthophosphoric acid is from 50 to 600 g, the weight of DL-malic acid is from 0.2 to 20 g, and the balance comprises the water.
