  • Patent number: 6106175
Abstract: A winding shaft, for use in a printer, which allows a wound recording paper to be easily removed therefrom. The winding shaft includes a shaft main body, a winding portion and a support-removing member. The winding portion, which sandwiches the shaft main body, winds the recording paper therearound. The shaft main body includes a pair of support-removing members, which respectively project from the shaft main body. The two support-removing members are respectively supported on the two side portions of the shaft main body in such a manner that they can be freely rotated about their respective support shafts. A tension-coiled spring is bridgingly disposed between the two support-removing members, so that the two support-removing members remain in standing positions when no external force is applied to them.

  • Patent number: 5476393
Abstract: A connector body member has conductor receiving sections for receiving a plurality of conductive end portions of a member to be connected, such as a flat cable, a jumper, or a printed circuit board. A plurality of contacts are so mounted as to project into the conductor receiving sections in order to contact the conductive end portions of the member to be connected. A cover member for holding the contact between the conductive end portions of the member to be connected and the contacts is formed to be pivotal with respect to the connector body member. Each conductor receiving section has an opening. The cover member pivots to cover the openings of the conductor receiving sections. • Patent number: 5430311
Abstract: A constant-voltage diode has a first semiconductor region of a first conductivity type, an adjoining semiconductor region of a second conductivity type, a third semiconductor region of the second conductivity type adjoining the second semiconductor region, and a fourth semiconductor region of the first conductivity type partially surrounded by the second semiconductor region. At low reverse biases between a cathode electrode and an anode electrode, the behavior of the device is determined by the pn junction between the first and second semiconductor regions. As the reverse biasing increases, the depletion layers of that junction will reach the fourth semiconductor region, but the reverse bias at this time is insufficient to break down that junction. A further increase of reverse bias causes breakdown of the pn junction between the third and fourth semiconductor regions. This effect is achieved by suitable impurity concentrations in the semiconductor regions.

  • Patent number: 5149217
Abstract: A plurality of micro medium feed mechanisms are provided at different locations in a printer and are all driven by a single step motor through a plurality of clutches and are selectively capable of feeding several different types of mediums, e.g., a sheet medium, a card medium or a rolled medium, i.e., feeding each such medium independently of the another presented via different inlets to the printer for each different type of medium. The step motor, therefore, functions as the sole driving source for a multiple medium handling type printer thereby providing a less expensive micro printer which is capable of incrementally feeding multiple different kinds of medium types in the same printer wherein printing can be accomplished from the very top edge to the very bottom edge of the fed medium due to the particular locations of the micro medium feed mechanisms in the micro printer.

  • Patent number: 4836790
Abstract: A header device for receiving an IC card or pack, comprises a housing, which includes an IC-pack holder having an opening through which the IC pack is inserted into and removed from the housing, and a pair of first levers projecting into the IC-pack holder so as to abut an end portion of the IC pack, and a pair of second levers located outside the holder. The first and second levers are coupled to each other at their respective proximal ends, so that they are immovable relative to each other. The coupled levers are rotatably mounted on the housing. If the IC pack is inserted into the housing through the opening, the end portion of the IC pack pushes the respective first levers, thereby rotating both the first and second levers in a first rotation direction. Then, if the second levers are rotated in a second rotation direction reverse to the first rotation direction, the first levers push the IC pack out of the housing.
