  • Patent number: 6130682
Abstract: An ink jet recording apparatus has a recording mode in which recording is performed by selectively discharging black ink and color inks of colors other than black. Any abnormality in the state of discharge of the ink is performed by executing a test discharging operation. When the recording apparatus functions as a facsimile apparatus, the test discharging operation is conducted by discharging only the black ink, without discharging inks of other colors. Wasteful consumption of ink is diminished, so that the running cost of the ink jet recording apparatus is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5943589
Abstract: A trench is formed on the surface of a semiconductor substrate. An oxide film is then formed on the side wall portion and the bottom portion of the trench, ions are implanted at least in the side wall portion of the trench for preventing an impurity from passing through there. Thereafter the ion-implanted portion is subjected to a heat treatment, whereby an impurity passing-through preventing film is formed between the bulk of the semiconductor substrate and the oxide film.

  • Patent number: 5014135
Abstract: There is provided an image recording apparatus to record an image onto a recording sheet in a facsimile apparatus or the like. This recording apparatus comprises: a recording head for recording an image onto the recording sheet; a rotary platen roller for conveying the recording sheet; a guide member for guiding the recording sheet along the peripheral surface of the platen roller; and a device to rotatably support the guide member around the rotary shaft of the platen roller as a rotational center. The recording head is arranged so as to be come into pressure contact with the peripheral surface of the platen roller. A pair of cam members for separating the recording head away from the platen roller are attached integrally with the guide member. With this apparatus, even if the sheet holder and platen roller are closely located, the recording sheet can be easily inserted into the gap therebetween. The apparatus can be miniaturized.

  • Patent number: 4985617
Abstract: A device in which a manuscript is passed between moving member, such as a seamless rotating body, and a reading device to allow the latter to read an image of the manuscript. Facing the rotating body, a detector for detecting a front end of the manuscript is mounted to a support member to which the reading device is also mounted. It becomes thereby possible to improve accuracy in detection, and, at the same time, to provide the entire manuscript reader in a small size.
