  • Publication number: 20230104284
Abstract: A steering wheel in which detection is made of an electrostatic capacitance generated between a hand of an occupant and a sensor electrode of a rim section to detect contact of the occupant's hand with the rim. The sensor electrode is separated in a peripheral direction of the rim section into a first electrode and a second electrode. This enables the installation surface area of the sensor electrode to be made smaller, enabling the cost of the sensor electrode to be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20230097013
Abstract: A sensor electrode and an insulating body are coupled together by a hot melt member in a sensor of a steering wheel. The sensor electrode makes contact with the insulating body at first protrusions so as to form through holes in the hot melt member. The hot melt member is accordingly able to stretch easily due to the through holes, enabling a high extensibility for the sensor to be achieved.

  • Publication number: 20210276604
Abstract: At a sensor electrode of a steering wheel, a protruding portion protrudes from a main body portion. A first thread and a second thread each extend in the protruding portion and effect conduction between a terminal at the protruding portion and a main body portion. Therefore, even if there is no conduction between the first thread and the second thread at intersection portions between the first thread and second thread in the protruding portion, the first thread and the second thread may each effect conduction between the terminal and the main body portion, and a degradation of conduction performance of the sensor electrode may be suppressed.

  • Publication number: 20150353119
Abstract: An inner face portion of a first heat generating body and an inner face portion of a second heat generating body, configuring a steering wheel, are respectively disposed facing a surface portion of a rim core metal section via a space portion. Configuring the space portion in a hollow state enables the inner face portion of the first heat generating body and the inner face portion of the second heat generating body to be configured in a non-constrained state. Accordingly, difference in deformation amounts between an outer face portion and the inner face portion of the first heat generating body can be suppressed from occurring when the first heat generating body generates heat. Moreover, difference in deformation amounts between an outer face portion and the inner face portion of the second heat generating body can be suppressed from occurring when the second heat generating body generates heat.
