  • Patent number: 6367731
Abstract: A roll paper pulling load-buffering device enables smooth roll paper transportation and minimizes the space required for its installation in the printer. The load-buffering device has an arm 22a that moves a specified angle around the shaft 24 on which the roll paper turns. A roller 23 extends widthwise to the roll paper from the arm 22a at a point offset from the outside diameter of the roll. Paper pulled off the roll is draped around this roller 23. When a transportation roller is driven to advance paper from the roll by pulling from the end of the roll, tension applied to the paper causes the arm 22a to turn in one direction by way of the intervening roller 23. An urging means 25 such as a spring then urges the roller 23 and arm 22a in the opposite direction, maintaining even tension on both sides of the roller 23 and thereby enabling smooth roll paper transportation.

  • Patent number: 4954535
Abstract: 2 to 15 wt % of a resin is added to a mixture of a refractory aggregate and a metal having a melting point of not higher than 1,000.degree. C., the resin being obtained by added 10 to 90 wt % of a silicon resin to at least one kind of thermosetting resin which easily exhibits a higher mechanical strength when heated to about 150.degree. to 250.degree. C. The resultant mixture is molded and heated to a temperature of not higher than 1,000.degree. C., thereby producing a high-durability plate brick for a sliding gate nozzle apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4917276
Abstract: Erosion or corrosion that has been caused during pouring a molten steel through a sliding gate nozzle for continuous casting becomes very serious when a specially treated molten steel such as deoxidized steel with a Ca alloy is applied for continuous casting. Such erosion can be eliminated by partially arranging a zirconia base refractory material on a portion of the inner surface of the nozzle hole. The zirconia base refractory material is composed of more than 53% by weight of partially stabilized zirconia base refractory material having less than 10 mesh grain size, 1 to 7% by weight of metallic silicon powder having less than 100 mesh grain size and 3 to 10% by weight of carbon powder.

  • Patent number: 4775504
Abstract: Alumina-carbon-based refractory plates for the sliding nozzle are produced from alumina powder and carbon powder of specific particle diameter, in addition to the conventional refractory materials. The plates are durable and have good resistance to molten steel because of a compact structure which prevents the sticking of molten steel.

  • Patent number: 4702629
Abstract: A dot matrix printer utilizes an inking roller for supplying ink to the surface of the printer platen and has guide means adjacent the platen to separate the print paper from the platen. The guide means includes an elongated slot or window for access to the platen by the print wires. The print wire support means is spring loaded in a direction toward the platen and utilizes a solenoid to move the support means away from the platen. A pair of rollers is engageable with the paper and positioned between the platen and the print element carriage to form a predetermined space between the paper and the end of the print wire when the carriage is moved toward the platen.

  • Patent number: 4539301
Abstract: Thin, flaky graphite-containing refractories are obtained by refining and processing naturally occurring minerals and possess a specific size of the extent of the surface of a flaky layer and a specific thickness of a flake. Such flaky graphite-containing refractories exhibit high endurance and are effective as lining materials particularly for steel making furnaces.
