  • Publication number: 20070146462
Abstract: An ink jet printing method and an ink jet printing apparatus are provided in an embodiment of the present invention using an intermediate transfer body. With each of the apparatus and the method, it is possible to form a high-quality image in an ink jet printing system. In the embodiment of the invention, color ink and an auxiliary liquid are supplied to ink-attracting portions each having a certain area, the ink-attracting portions being surrounded by an ink-repellent portion. Subsequently, ink dots are transferred to a printing medium, the ink dots being formed by the supplied ink and the supplied liquid. Here, the ink-attracting regions have an area in which a plurality of droplets of the ink and the liquid in total can be received.

  • Publication number: 20070146734
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a three-dimensional object which method is able to easily manufacture a three-dimensional object using a low-cost apparatus. The present invention thus manufactures a three-dimensional object containing a three-dimensional image by printing a two-dimensional image on print media each having at least an ink receiving layer and a bonding layer, on the basis of an ink jet scheme, and stacking the print media on which the two-dimensional image is printed so that the print media are bonded together via the bonding layers.

  • Publication number: 20060164488
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an image forming process comprising the steps of applying a first material for improving the wettability of the surface of an intermediate transfer medium to the intermediate transfer medium, applying a second material for lowering the flowability of an ink to the intermediate transfer medium to which the first material has been applied, applying the ink to the intermediate transfer medium, to which the first material and second material have been applied, from an ink-jet recording head to form an image of the ink on the intermediate transfer medium, and transferring the ink image formed to a recording medium.

  • Publication number: 20060152566
Abstract: The invention allows an image printing on a wide range of print media regardless of how much ink the print media absorb, without sacrificing a high printing flexibility of an ink jet printing system. To this end, the image forming method of this invention includes: a process of modifying a surface of an intermediate transfer body by applying energy to the surface; a process of ejecting ink onto the surface-modified intermediate transfer body by using an ink jet printing device; and a process of transferring ink from the intermediate transfer body to a print medium. With this invention, therefore, an ink image can be formed on the intermediate transfer body having a surface layer, without causing bleeding or beading, and then transferred onto the print medium in good condition.

  • Publication number: 20050270351
Abstract: An ink jet recording method and an ink jet recording apparatus permitting image formation with a high degree of color reproducibility while alleviating the influences of the ink-absorbency of the recording medium and the base color is to be provided. A transfer drum is applied a reaction liquid, and inks of different colors are applied by recording heads to the area applied the reaction liquid to form a coagulated ink image on the transfer drum. Ahead of the step to transfer this coagulated ink image to the recording medium, white ink is applied to at least the area of the transfer drum to which ink dots are to be applied or at least the area to which ink dots are to be applied out of the area of the recording medium to which the coagulated ink image is to be transferred.

  • Publication number: 20050110855
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming an image which can form a high-quality image on a great variety of print media regardless of the surface roughness or ink absorptivity of the print medium, without sacrificing the high degree of freedom of the ink jet printing system are provided. An ink jet printing section ejects ink to an intermediate transfer body to form an ink image on the intermediate transfer body. Before the ink image thus obtained is transferred to a print medium, an ink transfer adjuvant is applied to the print medium. Then, the ink image formed on the intermediate transfer body is transferred to the print medium to which the ink transfer adjuvant has been applied.

  • Publication number: 20050110856
Abstract: An ink-jet recording method and an ink-jet recording apparatus, wherein ink image with high quality and good abrasion resistance without generation of beading and bleeding are formed on recording media, in ink-jet recording using an intermediate transfer body, are provided. An ink image is formed by applying an image fixing component (for example reacting liquid) to an intermediate transfer body, and then applying inks of colors, Y, M, C, and K, from print heads corresponding each color. Then a supplementary liquid is applied to the ink image, and the ink image is transferred to a recording media.

  • Patent number: 6748113
Abstract: A block boundary where blocking artifact occurs or a lock where ringing artifact occurs is definitely detected. The noise detecting method includes the steps of: extracting coding information, including orthogonal transformation coefficients and a motion vector of each of multiple blocks of an image, from a bitstream that has been encoded through motion compensation of the image, orthogonal transformation and quantization, where the orthogonal transformation is performed on each said block; obtaining a reference area of each said block from a reference frame using the motion vector of the block; and detecting coding noise to be eliminated according to frequency component distributions of the orthogonal transformation coefficients of each said block and another one of the blocks within the reference frame overlapping the reference area of the block.
