  • Patent number: 7469378
Abstract: To provide a layout system suitable to implement layout with a high individuality. Layout result data of automatic layout processing is acquired as comparison destination layout result data. Business-type information, identical to business-type information corresponding to an input user ID, is retrieved from a user information registration database to read out a user ID corresponding to the associated business-type information. Comparison source layout result data, corresponding to the read-out user ID, is read out from layout result data registration database. Next, similarity between the comparison destination layout result data and the comparison source layout result data is calculated, and the comparison destination layout result data is corrected so that the degree of correction of the comparison destination layout result data increases as the calculated similarity increases.

  • Patent number: 7343549
Abstract: The invention provides a layout system suitable for producing an optimum layout when the attributes of the published information are not clearly determined in advance. The layout system can include a content distribution terminal that selects an article from the content registration DB and a page template from the template registration DB according to the number of characters of the selected article and produces a layout of the article according to the selected page template. Specifically, the total number of characters of an unpublished article is calculated, and the average number of characters in each of unprocessed pages is calculated on the basis of the total number of characters, the maximum number of pages and the current number of pages. Then, a page template with the number of publishable characters suitable for the calculated average number of characters is selected from the template registration DB.

  • Patent number: 7337394
Abstract: The invention provides a digital content production system which is appropriate for use in preventing a layout intended by a designer from being destroyed and provides freedom in the order of posting information. A content delivery terminal processes a flow object using a flow management table when a text information storage frame is not sufficient to fully store text information. A record of a flow object that is overflowed for the first time is registered at the end of the flow management table, and an unprocessed flow object is processed, starting with the top of the flow management table. If the text information is overflowed again from a new information storage frame as a result of processing the unprocessed flow object, the record of that flow object is registered on the top of the flow management table as an exception.

  • Patent number: 7281210
Abstract: To provide a layout system that prevents a layout intended by a designer from being destroyed, a content delivery terminal segments a selected information container frame into information container frames that do not overlap with another information container frame, registers the segmented information container frames into a modification candidate list, selects one of the segmented information container frames from the modification candidate list, and modifies the selected information container frame to the selected modification candidate container frame. Regardless of the content of an article, the amount of information of the article, and the logical structure of the article, the information container frame is modified in size with the rectangular shape thereof maintained.

  • Patent number: 7266554
Abstract: To provide a document extracting device, a document extracting program, and a document extracting method, having a low cost and a small amount of computation required to extract documents, a document extracting device includes similarity computing device computing all degrees of similarity between a plurality of documents to be candidates for extraction, and document extracting device to extract a combination of documents whose sum of the degrees of similarity between the documents computed by the similarity computing device is the smallest when any number of documents are extracted from among a group of the documents. As a result, since the cost required for works of giving keywords to the respective documents is not required to extract the documents, and even when the number of documents is increased, the amount of computation required to extract the documents is not increased extremely.

  • Patent number: 7200810
Abstract: The present invention provides a digital content production system and a digital content production program, which are appropriate for use in preventing a layout intended by a designer from being destroyed. The invention keeps the consistency of the layout, and prevents the order of posting information from being disturbed by the generation of overflow of information. A content delivery terminal produces a digital content for output by storing information to be posted into a plurality of information storage frames while referencing a layout definition file. When a text information storage frame is not sufficient to store text information, a flow object of the text information that cannot be stored in the text information storage frame can be stored into another text information storage frame having the same ID as that of the text information storage frame.

  • Patent number: 7191398
Abstract: The present invention provides a digital content production system which appropriately arranges information in a blank region present in a layout area in an easy-to-read layout without destroying layout consistency. The present invention can include a content delivery terminal that lays out a digital content by selecting the digital contents in a content registration data base based on user information, and by arranging a variety of pieces of information forming the selected digital contents into a predetermined frame in a layout area. When a blank region is present in the layout area after information forming the digital contents is arranged in the layout area, one of the information arrangement processes for arranging information into the blank region through respective different methods is searched for and retrieved based on the size of the blank region, and the information is arranged into the blank region by using the retrieved information arrangement process.

  • Publication number: 20050223319
Abstract: The invention provides a layout-rule generation system suitable for reflecting the layout of an existing document to the result of automatic layout. A layout unit can generate a layout rule on the basis of the positional relationship of at least two of multiple split regions in an electronic document and generate a layout template on the basis of the electronic document and register the generated template in a template registration DB in association with the generated layout rule. The layout unit can select layout elements from a layout-element registration DB and arranges the selected layout elements in the layout region according to the layout rule and the layout template generated for the same electronic document.

  • Publication number: 20050193334
Abstract: A layout system and method that is suitable for realizing an attractive layout and improving usability of an existing layout includes, when it is judged that a layout consistent with a logical structure of a structured document is not present in a template registration DB, a layout apparatus selects a layout template, which has the same number of information storage frames as the number of the layout elements included in the structured document, from the template registration DB. Then, the layout apparatus changes a logical structure of the selected layout template on the basis of the logical structure of the structured document and stores the layout elements, which are included in the structured document, in information storage frames in accordance with the changed layout template to perform layout.
