  • Patent number: 8084214
Abstract: The present invention intends to provide a high sensitivity method for identifying the type of a protein contained in each cell with a diameter of ten to several tens ?m and a sample treatment solution required for it. The above is achieved by three steps of (1) treating a slice of a diseased tissue with an aqueous solution containing gold particles and a digestive enzyme, and digesting restrictively a protein of interest, (2) measuring a 2-dimensional distribution of fragmented peptides by TOF-SIMS, and (3) visualizing a 2-dimensional distribution of the target protein in the slice of the diseased tissue using the results of the proteome analysis and by means of a numerical analysis.

  • Publication number: 20110248156
Abstract: Target molecules in a sample can be detected at an improved sensitivity by means of a mass spectrometer. A sample with or without a matrix is placed on a substrate and irradiated with a converged and pulsed primary beam selected from an ion beam, a neutral particle beam or a laser beam. Secondary ions and neutral molecules are emitted along with protons from the irradiated point of the sample as an electric field is applied between the substrate and an extraction electrode disposed above the substrate. A proton-control electrode is arranged in axial symmetry with the trajectory of the primary beam. A voltage is applied thereto so that the generated electric field decelerates the flying protons to raise their adhering efficiency to the flying neutral molecules.

  • Publication number: 20110146202
Abstract: [Problem] To realize a predetermined “aseptic level of the containers” without introducing a container sterilizing machine and to reduce the burden for adjusting the temperature of the preform. [Means for Solution] A metal mold for molding, wherein a space width (t2) of at least the body portion in the space width for forming a thickness of from the body portion to the bottom portion of the preform is set to lie in a range of 1.18 to 2.11 times as great as a space width (t1) for forming a thickness of an upper end portion of the mouth portion of the preform. At the time of the compression molding, the preform is taken out in the state of a high temperature from a compression-molding machine 31 and is fed to a bottle-producing unit C while maintaining the state of a high temperature. Further, the inner surfaces of a clean box I in which the units are placed and the outer surfaces of the units are sterilized, and the interior of the clean box I maintains a positive-pressure state with the filtered clean air.

  • Patent number: 7956321
Abstract: In-plane distribution of a target object contained in a sample is measured. The sample dispersedly placed on a substrate is treated to promote ionization of the target object. Then, the mass and flying amount of an ion containing the target object or a component thereof is determined by irradiating an ion beam to the sample and performing time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry of the ion that flies from a portion in the sample where the ion beam is irradiated, and the in-plane distribution of the target object is determined from the mass and flying amount data obtained at plural portions by scanning the beam on the sample plane. The step of treating the sample to promote ionization of the target object includes contacting an aqueous solution of an acid that does not crystallize at ordinary temperature with the sample. A high spatial resolution two-dimensional image can be obtained.
