  • Patent number: 5357281
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a terminal apparatus in which the in-frame compression factor of an image obtained by a camera is increased to restrict frame thinning when the camera is moved. A control circuit 60 performs control of a movable table 12. When a TV camera 10 is moved, the quantization table used in a quantization circuit 26 is changed over, whereby a higher compression factor of the coding conducted by a DCT circuit 24 and the quantization circuit 26 is achieved. Thus, a predetermined compression factor can be achieved without performing frame thinning.

  • Patent number: 5319471
Abstract: An image transmitting apparatus for digitizing a still-picture television signal, a manuscript image signal or the like and transmitting the digitized signal over a line is adapted to read an analog image signal stored in video memory such as a video disk, convert the read analog image signal into a digitized multi-valued signal and store the multi-valued image signal in an image memory. On the basis of paper size on which printing is to be performed by an apparatus, such as a facsimile machine, on the receiving side, the number of pixels constituting the multi-valued image signal stored in the image memory and an ensuing binary coding method, a ratio is obtained at which the multi-valued image signal stored in the image memory is to be expanded or compressed, and the multi-valued image signal is expanded or compressed based on this ratio.

  • Patent number: 5015973
Abstract: A circuit such as a duplexer which isolates a first and second frequency signals respectively directed to and from an antenna terminal. A transmitter filter has a output terminal connected to a connecting point through a first inductor. A receiver filter has an input terminal connected to the connecting point. The connecting point is connected to the antenna terminal, and to ground through a second inductor. In a modified circuit the output terminal of the transmitter filter and the input terminal of the receiver filter are respectively connected to the connecting point through first and second capacitors. In the preferred embodiments the transmitter filter and the receiver filter are mounted to one side of a dielectric plate and the inductor and/or capacitors are formed by electrically conductive step lines and a capacitance patterns formed on the opposite side of the dielectric plate.

  • Patent number: 4885784
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for encoding an image of an object into a binary signal involve the measurement of a preliminary view of the object in order to extract peak optical density information. That peak optical density information is then used to set the thresholds used for comparisons with video signals of the object to encode those video signals as binary signals. The methods and apparatus are also able to detect the offset of the object in the field of view from a standard position and to adjust the images of the objects being measured so that a predetermined "window" of the object is always being viewed.

  • Patent number: 4855693
Abstract: A dielectric filter and a method of manufacture. The filter includes a block of ceramic material having one or more holes extending from a top surface to a bottom surface, each of which is interiorly covered with conductive material so as to form an inner conductive layer. The bottom surface and side surfaces of the block are also covered with bottom and side conductive layers electrically connected to the inner conductive layers at the bottom surface. The inner conductive layer is further connected to spaced apart top conductive layer portions provided on the top surface of the block surrounding each hole. The top layer portions are spaced from each other and have an oblique edge portion which is capacitively coupled with, and obliquely faces an upper edge portion of the side conductive layers, the oblique edge facilitating adjustment of the resonant frequency by removal of a predetermined amount of conductive material therefrom.
