  • Publication number: 20170227184
Abstract: A vehicle lamp forms an additional high-beam light distribution pattern with light emitted though a projection lens from a plurality of light emitting elements. The plurality of light emitting elements are disposed to be aligned in a transverse direction below a rear focal point of the projection lens and can be lit individually. The vehicle lamp forms an additional light distribution pattern by lighting the plurality of light emitting elements at the same time to form a high-beam light distribution pattern. In addition, the vehicle lamp forms another additional light distribution pattern where a part of the additional light distribution pattern is omitted by selectively lighting a part of the plurality of light emitting elements so as to form an intermediate light distribution pattern.

  • Patent number: 9607227
Abstract: A boundary detection apparatus includes an acquisition unit, an extraction unit and a detection unit. The acquisition unit acquires a disparity image based on information obtained by capturing an image of a peripheral environment of a vehicle. The extraction unit extracts predetermined pixel regions from first and second pixel regions of the disparity image based on a disparity gradient direction of the first pixel region and a disparity gradient direction of the second pixel region. The detection unit detects a boundary of a step surface existing alongside a road by joining together at least some of the predetermined pixel regions extracted by the extraction unit. The first and second pixel regions sandwich the predetermined pixel region. An angle formed by the disparity gradient direction of the first pixel region and the disparity gradient direction of the second pixel region is within a predetermined angular range of a right angle.

  • Publication number: 20150300284
Abstract: An object is to, in a low-load operating range of a dual-fuel diesel engine or a dual-fuel diesel engine unit including a plurality of the dual-fuel diesel engines, reduce the amount of injection of oil fuel so as to make it possible to make exhaust gas less harmful and to reduce fuel cost. On a cylinder head, a plurality of dual-fuel injectors are disposed, each of which having a gas fuel injector that injects a gas fuel being a main fuel and a pilot fuel injector that injects an oil fuel. In a low-load operating range where it is not necessary for the dual-fuel injectors to inject fuel at the same time for ignition, fuel is injected alternately from the dual-fuel injectors and combusted in every single combustion cycle. As a result, it is possible to halve the amount of injection of oil fuel in the low-load operating range.

A light source is disposed above optical axis Ax of the projector lens while a light emission surface is inclined downwardly. A first reflecting mirror has an elliptical reflective surface, and is adjusted in size such that almost all the light reflected from the reflective surface is incident on the projector lens. A shield plate is disposed in the vicinity of the focus of the first reflecting mirror to form a horizontal cutoff line. A second reflecting mirror is disposed to reflect light that is not incident on the first reflecting mirror. The third reflecting mirror is disposed above the upper end of the shield plate at a position that does not interfere with the light reflected from the first reflecting mirror.
