  • Patent number: 7173033
Abstract: As a result of an effort made by us for the purpose of developing a therapeutic agent having a bone formation-stimulating effect by promoting the functions of osteoblasts, the present inventors discovered that a certain nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound exhibits a potent bone formation-stimulating effect on the osteoblast and thus can serve as an excellent prophylactic or therapeutic agent against a metabolic bone disease, whereby establishing the present invention. Thus, the present invention provides a 3,6-disubstituted 1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-b]pyridazine compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as well as a pharmaceutical composition comprising such a compound and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, especially a bone-forming agent.

  • Publication number: 20060173009
Abstract: Osteoporosis and the like metabolic bone diseases have a high frequency of causing lumbago and the like pains and bone fracture, due to lowering of the bone strength caused by the reduction of bone mass. Accordingly, great concern has been directed toward the creation of a drug which can increase the bone mass and bone strength by controlling the whole bone metabolism. The pharmaceutical composition or combination product of the invention comprising a non-living body-derived non-peptide osteoblast differentiation promoting compound and a bisphosphonate having a bone resorption inhibitory action is useful as a bone mass increasing inducer which can increase the bone mass and/or bone strength by controlling the bone metabolism.

  • Patent number: 6682718
Abstract: The invention relates to an alveolar bone resorption inhibitor for use in topical injection by an alveolar mucosa injection method, which comprises a bisphosphonic acid derivative or a salt thereof as an active ingredient and to an alveolar bone resorption inhibitor for human periodontal tissue topical injection, which comprises a bisphosphonic acid derivative or a salt thereof in a concentration small enough so that local irritation to human periodontal tissues as the administrating site is acceptable but sufficient enough for expressing alveolar bone resorption inhibitory action by topical injection.

  • Patent number: 5920174
Abstract: A control apparatus of an electric power steering apparatus capable of firmly detecting an abnormality of a torque detection value, caused by a drift occurred in a torque sensor and by a connector contact resistor, with a simple arrangement. A current supplied from a power supply flows through a potentiometer (3A) of a torque sensor (3), this current is supplied to a current detecting resistor (13g), a drift occurred in the torque sensor (3) is detected by a voltage across terminals of this resistor, the detected drift detection voltage V.sub.is is read in a microcomputer (21), and the drift detection voltage V.sub.is is compared with a set value to judge as to whether or not the drift is present within a normal range. The torque sensor is constructed of a main potentiometer (3.sub.M) and a sub-potentiometer (3.sub.S). A change amount .DELTA.V.sub.M is calculated from a difference between a presently detected value and a previously detected value of the torque detection voltage V.sub.
