  • Patent number: 10981241
Abstract: A solder feed structure has a solder exit aperture with an elongated shape. The elongated shape can help reduce the incidence of clogging, as it has a dimension that is significantly larger than the wire diameter of solder. The solder feed structure has a bent segment leading up to the solder exit aperture. The arc of the bent segment can cause the solder wire to be in a stable position at one end of the elongated shape of the solder exit aperture instead of wobbling within the solder exit aperture.

  • Patent number: 8569657
Abstract: A soldering iron (and a desoldering iron) with a replaceable tip, which is releasably securable on the forward heat-conducting end of a soldering (or desoldering) iron heat assembly. The tip has a heat conducting core in a tip cap. Methods of manufacturing and using the tip are also disclosed. A method of manufacturing a replaceable soldering or desoldering iron tip can comprise preparing a cap having a base opening and at least substantially filling the cap through the base opening with a heat conducting material so that a tip core is formed in the cap, the tip core having a core face at the base opening.

  • Patent number: 8319468
Abstract: The present invention aims to prevent a main drive pulse from being moved to a rank having a potential to cause a non-rotating state. A detection segment for detecting a rotating state of a stepping motor is divided into a first segment immediately after the drive with a main drive pulse, a second segment, and a third segment and, when the stepping motor is rotated by the main drive pulse, the main drive pulse is not changed when a detection signal exceeding a reference threshold voltage is detected at least in the first and second segments. When it is detected only in the first and third segments, or detected only in the third segment, the rank is moved upward and, when it is not detected in any segment, or detected only in the first segment, the rank is moved upward after the drive with a corrective drive pulse. When it is detected only in the second segment or detected only in the second and third segments, the rank is moved downward.

  • Patent number: 8274011
Abstract: A soldering device includes a tip member and a temperature sensor embedded within the tip member by a buckled copper pipe that is thermally conductive. A soldering device includes a tip member and a temperature sensor embedded within the tip portion by application of a crimping force that deforms the tip portion onto the temperature sensor. A soldering device includes a tip member, a heater member, and a thermally conductive wedge that is pushed into a gap between the tip member and the heater member. A soldering device includes a tip cartridge carried by a handle assembly that includes an o-ring and an o-ring cover that keeps the o-ring from falling off of the handle assembly. The o-ring cover includes a hook portion that engages a catch feature of the handle housing.

  • Patent number: 8237091
Abstract: A soldering iron (and a desoldering iron) with a replaceable tip, which is releasably securable on the forward heat-conducting end of a soldering (or desoldering) iron heat assembly. The tip has a tapered heat conducting core in a tip cap. The face of the core can have a depression for mating engagement with a protrusion of the heat-conducting end. Also, the face can lie in the rear plane of the tip cap. An assembly which allows for the easy removal and application of a replacement tip can include a sleeve with tightening bolt, a coil spring sleeve, or a slotted compressible sleeve. The tip can thus be replaced after it has worn out, and the heat assembly unit need not be replaced until it has burnt out. Methods of manufacturing and using the tip are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8111033
Abstract: The present invention aims to prevent a nonrotation state from being brought about even when a drive allowance is changed by variations in a stepping motor or the like. A pulse down counter circuit outputs pulse down control signal for subjecting main drive pulse to control pulse down when time is counted for a predetermined time period. When a detecting signal exceeding a reference threshold voltage detected by a rotation detecting circuit is detected at a first detection section at start of a rotation detecting time period, a control circuit resets the pulse down counter circuit. Thereby, a main drive pulse generating circuit is not subjected to control pulse down by the pulse down counter circuit, and therefore, it is prevented that the main drive pulse is subjected to pulse down unnecessarily.

  • Patent number: 7808860
Abstract: To make such that, in a case displaying the fact that a time code could not be normally received in an analog radio-controlled timepiece, by a simple constitution there is performed a display having no sense of discomfort for a user. In a case where there could not be normally received in a time code reception operation in the last time, a second hand is normally moved by 1 second. In a case where there failed in a reception, after the second hand was normally moved till a 55-second position, the second hand is stopped at the 55-second position till a second time instant becomes 59 seconds. When it became 59 seconds, by fast-forwarding the second hand till an exact second position, the fact that the time code could not be normally received is displayed by the display having no sense of discomfort for the user without using an exclusive display means, and the like.

  • Patent number: 7679032
Abstract: A soldering or a desoldering tool includes a replaceable tip with a recess adapted to receive a portion of a temperature sensor to measure the temperature of the tip. Positioning the temperature sensor within the tip allows the temperature to be quickly measured so that the temperature near the tip may be more accurately monitored and controlled. The temperature sensor may be also integrated with the heater near the tip such that the temperature sensor is between the tip and the heater and near both of them so that the temperature of the tip is substantially that of the temperature of the heater. A sleeve may enclose the temperature sensor and the heater with a portion of the temperature sensor extending out from the foreward end of the sleeve. The replaceable tip may also have a bore adapted to receive a head protruding from the foreward end of the sleeve to couple the tip at a predetermined orientation with respect to the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 7375966
Abstract: An ECU has an enclosure which is contained in the casing of an automatic transmission, which is formed of a material having low heat conductivity, and which provides liquid-tight containment of a substrate. A heat sink is attached to the substrate so as to dissipate heat from an electronic circuit on the substrate. The heat sink is attached in contact with an inner wall surface of the enclosure, so that heat produced by the electronic circuit is dissipated via the heat sink and the enclosure.
