  • Publication number: 20040246565
Abstract: In an optical wavelength converting method in which light from a laser oscillator that oscillates coherent light of an inherent wavelength &lgr; is employed as incident light, and is made to input to a nonlinear optical crystal, and light having a wavelength of ½ &lgr; is radiated, the wavelength of the incident light is 1000 nm or less, and the peak power density of the incident light is 0.1-10 fold greater than the peak power density that provides the maximum conversion efficiency. The nonlinear optical crystal is heated to and maintained at 200-600° C. An optical wavelength converting method, and a program therefor are provided that achieves high conversion efficiency stably using an nonlinear optical crystal, enabling manufacture of an all solid state ultraviolet laser oscillator that is durable with respect to practical application. Prescribed fundamental waves are input to a first crystal and a second crystal sequentially.

  • Patent number: 6526072
Abstract: A laser apparatus includes a wavelength conversion device composed of single crystal lithium tetraborate for converting a wavelength by passing an incident laser beam therethrough. The relationship between the orientation of the crystal axis of the single-crystal lithium tetraborate and the direction of incidence of the laser beam is determined so as to prevent beam walk-off from occurring in the laser beam propagating through the conversion device. A method of converting a wavelength by passing an incident laser beam through a wavelength conversion device composed of single-crystal lithium tetraborate is also disclosed.

Abstract: A repairing method using a lance for repairing an oven wall surface of a coke oven comprises the steps of arranging a distance sensor at a top end of the lance, quantitatively measuring a depth of a worn or a damaged area by the distance sensor, and blowing a repairing material from a repairing nozzle to the worn area in accordance with a measurement result to thereby repair the worn area. The lance used in this repairing method has a multistage structure having a polygonal cross section and is extendable. With this structure, the oven wall surface can be scanned in a linear fashion or along a plane. If the top end of the lance is movable in accordance with a basic motion pattern and/or a travelling pattern, it is possible to readily repair a repair range having a complicated shape.
