  • Patent number: 7611656
Abstract: A method of fabricating a plastic molded article is disclosed. In the method, a compound liquid, including two component liquids insoluble in each other and having different dielectric constants, is supplied between two electrodes, and an electric field is applied between the electrodes. At least one of the component liquids is an un-cured curable resin liquid. Upon application of the electric field, the higher dielectric constant component liquid is extended along the direction of the electric field, thus forming a bridge structure linking the electrodes. When the curable resin is cured after the bridge structure is formed, a plastic molded article is obtained.

Date of Patent: November 3, 2009
    Assignee: Ricoh Company, Ltd.

  • Patent number: 6015514
Abstract: An apparatus and method of producing molded plastic products provides the molded plastic products of high accuracy and with short molding cycle. A resin is placed in a cavity of a mold for forming the product therein. When the resin cools in the cavity of the mold to a temperature lower than the softening temperature of the resin, air gaps are forcibly formed between the resin and the plural cavity pieces, by slidably moving the cavity pieces so as to part the cavity pieces from the resin. The mechanism for forming the air gaps is included as part of the apparatus, and the method includes the step of forceably forming the air gaps.

  • Patent number: 5603871
Abstract: In an aging device used to manufacture a plastic molded product, injecting and aging processes are separated from each other. Namely, a plastic base material is approximately processed in advance in a final shape by injection molding. Thereafter, the plastic base material is inserted into an aging die having plural cavities and attached to a press machine such that the aging die is clamped and opened. Next, the plastic base material is heated and melted until a temperature equal to or higher than a glass transition point so as to generate an internal resin pressure. Next, the plastic base material is gradually cooled to transfer a mirror face thereto. The aging device has a die cooling device having plural heat pipes for cooling the die and has a die heating device having plural heaters for heating the die. The heat pipes and the heaters are arranged in a die plate of the press machine.
