  • Publication number: 20100188749
Abstract: The invention relates to an optical film containing polyester with a specific structure, and methods for production thereof. Further, the invention also relates to an optical laminate, a polarizing plate, and an image display device each using the optical film. The polyester may be obtained by condensation polymerization of dicarboxylic acid compound(s) and bisphenol compound(s), and preferably has no halogen atom in its chemical structure. According to the invention, high productivity of the optical film can be achieved since the polyester has a high solubility in solvents, and an environmental loading for production can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 5677201
Abstract: Compatibility of high sensitivity with low remaining images, and low crosstalk can be achieved by a laminated solid-state image pickup device, which includes accumulating portions for accumulating electric signals, reading units for reading the electric signals, connecting members formed in contact with the accumulating portions, and a photoconductive film, and by a method for manufacturing the device. The photoconductive film is made of a non-crystalline semiconductor, and is configured by laminating a carrier multiplication layer, a light absorbing layer, a charge injection inhibiting layer of a second conduction type. Each of the connecting members is made of a semiconductor layer of a first conduction type, intrinsic or having a low impurity density, surrounded by a semiconductor layer of the second conduction type or a conductive material.

  • Patent number: 4816933
Abstract: A magnetic recording medium is provided comprising a flexible substrate and a ferromagnetic metal thin film layer on the substrate primarily comprising cobalt. When coercive force is measured by changing the measuring direction in a plane defined by a longitudinal direction of the substrate and a direction normal to the major surface of the substrate, the following relationship is met:(Hc.sub.max -Hc.sub.min)/Hc(O).ltoreq.0.9where Hc.sub.max is the maximum of the coercive force, Hc.sub.min is the minimum of the coercive force, and Hc(O) is a coercive force in the longitudinal direction of the substrate. The medium has in average at least 10.sup.5 /a.sup.2 protrusions per square millimeter of the surface, the protrusions having a height of 30 to 300 .ANG., where a is the distance as expressed in .mu.m of a gap in a magnetic head across which the medium is passed for recording and reproducing operation. The filling ratio of the ferromagnetic metal thin film layer is at least 0.7.
