  • Patent number: 7084893
Abstract: A pressing lever is attached, rotatable about one end, on a holder. The center of rotation is positioned on a side opposite to a paper feed roller with respect to the center line of a vertical slit of the holder. Further, the pressing lever is provided with a pressing bar that extends toward the holder. When a supporter is inserted to the slit of holder, a sidewall having larger diameter is brought into contact with pressing member before the shaft of supporter comes into contact with a tip end of pressing lever, and thus, pressing lever rotates smoothly.

  • Publication number: 20050281607
Abstract: In a printer comprising a paper container for containing a recording paper, the paper container has a base member mounted of a housing of the printer and a cover member rotatably pivoted on the base member via a pair of hinge structures. Each hinge structure has at least a first bearing portion formed on the cover member and having a first center hole, at least a second bearing portion formed on the base member and having a second center, a hinge pin inserted into the first center hole of the first bearing portion and the second center hole of the second bearing portion, a first and a second stoppers formed on the base member for facing both ends of the hinge pin with predetermined gaps. The second stopper has elasticity to be deformed when the hinge pin is inserted into the first and second center holes by applying a pressure thereto and to be recovered to a natural shape when the pressure is released so as to prevent escape of the hinge pin from the first and second center holes.

  • Publication number: 20040263605
Abstract: A roll paper feeding device includes a paper feed roller, a flange holder, a flange pressing portion, a roll paper pressing lever, a housing containing these components therein, and a cover arranged above the housing. The flange holder has a recess having wide opening at an upper surface, and a shaft of the flange axially supporting the roll paper is placed in the recess. The flange pressing portion is provided on the cover, and when the cover is open, the flange pressing portion is moved toward the center of rotation of the cover, by means of a rotating member, a base member and a spring. Consequently, the flange supporting the roll paper on its shaft can easily be set in the flange holder.

  • Patent number: 5499081
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive drum driver for rotating a photosensitive drum at either a normal speed or a higher speed, a charger, a charge remover for removing residual charges on the photosensitive drum surface after a toner image is transferred, a starter for instructing a start of image forming operation, and a controller responsive to the starter for controlling the operative parts. Upon the starter being turned on, the controller drives the charger and the charge remover, and permits the photosensitive drum driver to rotate the photosensitive drum at the higher speed, and suspends the image formation, After the photosensitive drum completes the initial one turn, the controller starts the image formation and permits the photosensitive drum driver to rotate the photosensitive drum at the normal speed.

  • Patent number: 5479239
Abstract: For a pre-transfer charging device provided in image processing apparatus for a xerographic image reproducing machine, a bipartite shield is provided, having a shield upper case mounted in an imaging apparatus first frame, and a shield lower case mounted in an imaging apparatus second frame fitted with a guide at least partially defining a sheet conveyance path into an imaging unit of the imaging apparatus. The imaging unit includes a chargeable photoconductor drum and is mounted in the first frame, which is pivotally joined to the second frame. A bottom exterior surface of the shield lower case serves as a guide partially defining a terminal portion of the sheet conveyance path. A discharge wire is fitted in the shield upper case, extending axially within the pre-transfer charging device, and therein is movable integrally with the shield upper case. During maintenance on the imaging apparatus, the first frame is opened off of the second frame.

  • Patent number: 4975740
Abstract: When documents fed by an automatic document feeder are subjected to the first copying operation, the documents are counted one by one. Alternately, the total number of documents are calculated by dividing the number of copy paper sheets sent to an intermediate tray, by the preset number of copies. Page entry is made in the copy paper sheets taken out from the intermediate tray, based on the total number of documents thus obtained. The total number of documents may be automatically counted. Accordingly, even though the documents are successively fed, starting from the last-page document, page entry may be made. The operator is not required to manually count the total number of documents.
