  • Patent number: 9935382
Abstract: A connector includes a contact connected to a member to be connected and brought into contact with a wire so as to electrically connect the member to be connected and the wire. The contact includes contact portions coming into contact with the wire when the wire moves in a perpendicular direction perpendicular to a wire extending direction in which the wire extends, and movement restriction members for restricting a movement of the wire on the contact in a state where the wire is in contact with the contact portions. The contact further includes a movement regulation member for regulating a movement of the wire in the perpendicular direction in the state where the wire is in contact with the contact portions.

  • Patent number: 7318752
Abstract: There is provided a connector which can downsize the peripheral device. A receptacle 1 is capable of receiving both a mini-A plug based on a USB OTG standard and a mini-B plug based on a USB 2.0 standard. Further, the receptacle 1 includes first posts 41 compliant with the USB standard and second posts 42 disposed at an opposite side to the first posts 41 with a connecting part 32 inserted into a connecting recess 20 of a plug 2 therebetween. Furthermore, the plug 2 includes second contacts 72 corresponding to the second posts 42 in addition to first contacts 71 corresponding to the first posts 41. Accordingly, it is possible to transmit data other than the data which are transmitted through the known USB connector by using the second posts 42 and the second contacts 72. In addition, it is possible to down size the peripheral device compared to the case where the size increases when a connector for transmitting the other data is installed in addition to the USB connector.

  • Patent number: 7288003
Abstract: A socket device is installed on a circuit board of an electronic product and includes an insulating housing formed with a contained space for containing an electronic component, a plurality of terminals installed in the contained space, and a holding casing covered around the insulating housing. The insulating housing has at least one horizontal penetrating groove formed at two sides thereof. The terminals are electrically connected with the electronic component. The holding casing forms at least one elastic arm at its two sides, respectively. Each elastic arm forms a pressing portion from a top edge thereof to the contained space for pressing the electrical component, and a guiding portion transversely extended from a free end thereof to the contained space. Each guiding portion is slidably contained in the penetrating groove. Therefore, it can prevent the elastic arm twisted outwardly and the socket device from deforming during the assembly process.

  • Patent number: 6623308
Abstract: A socket body of a connector has an engaging rib provided on the bottom of an insertion slot thereof. The engaging rib has an engaging recess provided in the distal end while a header body of the connector has an engaging slot provided for engaging with the engaging rib and also an engaging projection provided at the engaging slot for engaging with the engaging recess. When the engaging rib is inserted into the engaging slot and the engaging recess accepts the engaging projection, the socket body remains free from any adverse impact at its end portions and can thus be protected from damage. This also allows the end portions to be reduced in thickness, thus decreasing the dimensions of the connector. Moreover, as the positioning accuracy between the socket body and the heater body is improved, the electrical connection between a socket and a header of the connector will be ensured without contact error.

  • Publication number: 20020137396
Abstract: A socket body (11) of a connector has an engaging rib (13) provided on the bottom of an insertion slot (12) thereof. The engaging rib (13) has an engaging recess (13a) provided in the distal end thereof while a header body (21) of the connector has an engaging slot (23) provided therein for engaging with the engaging rib (13) and also an engaging projection (23a) provided thereon at the engaging slot (23) for engaging with the engaging recess (13a). When its engaging rib (13) is inserted into the engaging slot (23) and its engaging recess (13a) accepts the engaging projection (23a), the socket body (11) remains free from any adverse impact at its end portions (16) and can thus be protected from injury. This also allows the end portions (16) to be reduced in the thickness thus decreasing the dimensions of the connector.

  • Patent number: 5556285
Abstract: An electrical connector is composed of a socket and a plug. The socket is made of fiat configuration which is capable of reducing the height or thickness along a direction of inserting the plug into the socket. The socket has a socket base (10) mounting contacts (20) with a slot (22). The plug having a plug base (30) which carries posts (40) extending perpendicular to the plug base. The post is adapted to have its end engaged into the slot (22) with the plug base (30) held in parallel with the socket base (10) for electrical interconnection between the post (40) and the contact (20). The contact (20) is made flat to have the slot extending generally in parallel with the planar socket base, thereby reducing the dimension of the socket along the inserting direction of the post.

  • Patent number: 5476389
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly has a socket body which is mounted on a printed board and is adapted for receiving a complementary plug with contacts. The socket body has a bottom and a pair of opposed side walls defining therebetween a cavity for receiving the plug. The socket body carries a plurality of connector contacts, each of which is bent to define an inner leg and an outer leg both extending from a bent. The inner leg extends along an inner surface of the side wall within the cavity for engagement with the contacts of the plug, while the outer leg extends downwardly from the bent along an outer surface of the side wall to define a terminal lead at its lower end. The terminal lead projects generally horizontally outwardly from the bottom of the socket body so as to be registered on a corresponding terminal site of a conductor pattern on the printed board and is welded thereto.
