  • Patent number: 9084997
Abstract: There are provided a capsule and a chemical reaction cartridge capable of properly handling reagents and so forth. The capsule is formed by laminating two dome-shaped films together at the peripheries thereof. The films are formed by subjecting heat sealable films, to which aluminum vapor deposition is applied, to a drawing process. The films are made of a material (easy-peel material), which can be varied in seal strength by a heating temperature and are thermally welded together at an adhesion area at the peripheries thereof. Thereafter, contents such as reagents and so forth are filled up inside the capsule via a filling section.

  • Patent number: 9061280
Abstract: The present invention makes it possible to realize a chemical reaction cartridge, which enables prescribed protocols to be achieved easily without differences among operators. The cartridge is sealed and disposable, and has a safe structure against viruses or dangerous drugs. This cartridge is intended to be used for performing chemical reaction of samples. The cartridge comprises a container formed of a rigid substrate and an elastic body, wherein two or more chambers linked or arranged to be able to be linked through flow paths are formed in the container. The flow paths, the chambers or both are partially closed by applying an external force to the elastic body from outside the container, thereby being able to move or block fluid substance in said flow paths or chambers.

  • Patent number: 8961900
Abstract: A chemical reaction cartridge includes a vessel having at least one part made of an elastic body, in which a plurality of chambers formed in the vessel so as to be connected or arranged connectably through a flow path, and an external force is applied to the elastic body from an outside of the vessel to move a fluid substance in the flow path or the chambers or in both the flow path and the chambers so as to perform a chemical reaction. At least a chamber into which the fluid substance is flowed has an air-release path which releases air from the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20110318824
Abstract: An end portion of a head has a recess having an inner shape corresponding to a dome shape of a well when the well is in an expanded state. The radius of curvature of the recess is larger than the radius of curvature of the dome shape of the well. Moreover, the depth of the recess is smaller than the height of the dome shape of the well. Therefore, the head first contacts the apex of the well, and the contact area gradually expands toward the outer periphery. At this time, a gap is generated between the head and the cartridge around the well. Thus, the air between the head and the well is expelled from around the well as the head is pressed against the well.

  • Patent number: 7858045
Abstract: A cartridge adaptable to various measurement forms is provided. A sample is injected into a well via an injection path. When a roller while kept pressed into contact with the cartridge is rotated rightward, the sample held in the well, and liquid solvent held in a well are caused to reach a well via flow paths, respectively, thereby mixing the sample with the liquid solvent. A mixed liquid is branched into flow paths, respectively, to thereby reach wells, respectively, and reagents pre-held in wells, respectively, are caused to flow into the wells, respectively. Next, temperatures in the wells, respectively, are controlled, thereby executing DNA amplification. Then, PCR by-products as amplified in the wells, respectively, are transferred as far as a position in the vicinity of an electrode via flow paths.

  • Publication number: 20080305556
Abstract: The invention provides a chemical reaction cartridge which can be treated with safety upon introduction of a sample into the cartridge and a method of using the same. An opening section of the chemical reaction cartridge is openable and closable by a rail fastener provided inside an elastic body. When the rail fastener is released, the elastic body can be opened across the entire width. The opening section provides the cartridge with an opening having a large sectional area, which is larger than a flow path and a chamber inside the cartridge, owing to elasticity of the elastic body.

  • Publication number: 20060275813
Abstract: The cartridge for chemical reaction according to the invention is a cartridge for chemical reaction that causes chemical reaction by feeding an internal liquid by way of deformation caused by external forces. The entirety of a target molecule detecting chip is housed in the cartridge for chemical reaction. According to the cartridge for chemical reaction, the entire target molecule detecting chip is housed in the cartridge for chemical reaction so that it supports various forms of target molecule detecting chips. The target molecule detecting chip may be a penetration type chip that allows a solution including target molecules to penetrate the target molecule detecting chip. In this case, the solution may pass inside the penetration type chip by way of deformation of the cartridge for chemical reaction caused by external forces applied to the cartridge for chemical reaction.
