  • Patent number: 5043959
Abstract: An apparatus for operating a magneto-optic medium includes a magnetic biasing field developing device for developing a magnetic biasing field which is applied to the magneto-optic medium when the magneto-optic medium erases or records data. Additionally, a neutral-position controller is provided for positioning permanent magnets of the magnetic biasing field developing device in a neutral position with respect to the medium when the magnetic biasing field developing device is switched off. Thereby, the neutral-position controller maintains the medium at the neutral position with respect to the permanent magnets until the magnetic biasing developing device is switched on and the permanent magnets are placed in a field applying position.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 6, 1988
Date of Patent: August 27, 1991
    Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki Kaisha
Inventors: Hisashi Minami, Toshihisa Deguchi, Shozo Kobayashi, Yoshiki Nishioka
  • Patent number: 4991833
Abstract: An automatic document feeder including an automatic sheet winding device and an exposure device. The automatic sheet winding device includes a rotary drum and a sheet clamping device for clamping the original sheet wound around a circumferential face of the rotary drum such that a sheet clamping region and an exposure region on the circumferential face of the rotary drum are only slightly circumferentially spaced from each other.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 13, 1989
Date of Patent: February 12, 1991
    Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki Kaisha

  • Patent number: 4864125
Abstract: An extra magnetic field positioning apparatus includes a motor which does not have stable points for defining the extra magnetic field. An encoder is provided which is rotated with the motor and individually has the information which indicates rotating displacement and the information which indicates rotating position. Further, a sensor detects the information indicating the rotating position recorded on the encoder, and another sensor detects the information indicating the rotating displacement recorded on the encoder.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 6, 1987
Date of Patent: September 5, 1989
