Abstract: A developing method wherein an oscillating electric field is formed in a development area between an image retainer; and a developer feeding carrier of a composite developer containing a chargeable component, and the oscillating waveform of the oscillating electric field is varied to provide an adjustment of the development performance. Preferably, the oscillating electric field is an alternating electric field. The oscillating waveform is modified by varying the amplitude, bias, selection time for a time-selected waveform transformation, or frequency thereof.

Abstract: An image forming method having the step of forming a first latent image by subjecting an image retainer with a photoconductive layer to a first image exposure; developing the first latent image with first toner; forming a second latent image by a second image exposure; developing the second latent image with second toner, wherein the transmissivity of the first toner is sufficiently high for an irradiating ray used for the second image exposure. For the image exposure a ray which has such a wavelength distribution as to substantially transmit the respective toners composing a toner image formed already on the electrostatic photosensitive member when the image is exposed.

The surface of the photo-receptor is image exposed while being changed, then given a flood exposure of specific light to the surface to form a potential pattern on the portion of specific filters and a step to develop the potential pattern is repeated at least twice depending on the type of filter, and a changing process that uniformalizes the potential on the surface is given before the second flood exposure and therewith every time.

Abstract: An apparatus for forming a multicolor image having a color correcting device with an operational processor for correcting and converting an image data composed of a plurality of color data. The apparatus has a device for forming a latent image on an image retainer based on the results of the color correction executed by the color correction device and a plurality of developing devices for developing the latent image thus formed by the device using toner of mutually different colors in order to form the multicolor image by successively forming a plurality of color toner images on the image retainer.

Abstract: A colored image-forming method is initiated by forming a latent image on an image retainer in the form of a rotatable drum. Then, a powdered toner is caused to fly from a developer-feeding carrier and adhere to the retainer in the presence of an oscillating electric field. Similar steps are carried out using different powdered toners to superimpose toner images of different colors on the retainer. Each developer-feeding carrier has a magnet member to exert a magnetic force to the corresponding toner. A magnetic attracting force acting between the toner particles and the magnet member becomes smaller according to the increase of the number of the repetition of the above steps.
